Dracula, many years ago I got my fingers burned with a couple of start up and junior minerals miners. One failed -fair enough. What really taught me a lesson was the other, which was a commercial success, but nearly all the winnings ended up in pockets of everyone but the ordinary shareholders. Too late I heard Rick Rule, perhaps the greatest of the physivcal mining maestros say 'look at the company structure even before you look at the quality of he asset'.
I do that now, and some corporate structures make your hair curl. The industry insiders make a LOT of money, even out of limited mining successes, and at least break even on the failures. Not so the innocent PI ordinary shareholders. A whole web of secured and convertible loans, warrants, placements of shares at a discount to raise capital, al of which PIs have no access to and generally never bother to find out exist.. But even in the wild west of start up and junior physical miners I have never seen one here the CEO of the company contracted out the development of the mine to his own separate company which provided his services as mine developer to the company of which he is CEO ,for consultancy fees and bonuses negotiated between himself acting for his consultancy company and himself acting as CEO of the employer company!! Are any questions asked at the AGM following te payment of 'performance' bonus when projected milestones are missed? Nah. The PIs never question anything.
