Did you go as big on QBT?

Don't worry about my spreadsheet. PM's are my main area of activity, so this year has treated me pretty kindly so far. Mustn't count my chickens though. no profit made until I sell and the money is in the bank and all that. Since lining up the PMs last year I have been building uranium stocks this year. So far so good, as the man who jumped off a sky scraper said as he passed the 10th floor. Fingers crossed.

I did not misquote OSD's post in any way. My comments were directed to the exact assertions he made. It is true that he may have intended to say something else, but it if so there is no knowing what he did mean..

I hope he was more accurate when he worked as an engineer. If an engineer certifies a structure '10 tons maximum load', it is cold comfort after it collapses under an 8 ton load for the engineer to say 'You are misquoting me; you should have known I meant 1 ton'. Probably it is as well that he took early early retirement, though I don't suppose he sees it that way.. Strange fellow.

More bad advice from OSD.

No one in his right mind would invest his entire portfolio in just one stock, unless perhaps he had only a very small amount of capital to invest, and put it all ino a broadly based Investment trust or ETF.

And why would anyone want to hear investment advice from someone invested in only one stock?

Finally, investment success does not depend upon balls. It relies upon the ability to read accounts, to distinguish a weak from a strong bsalance sheet, and to make sound risk /reward assessments. Above all, it depends upon the ability to recognise and avoid sucker stocks. What you don't buy is even more important than what you do buy.

Maid, if IM reminds you of QBT and Gardin's 5 year (and counting) efforts to bring something - anything - to fruition, I suggest that you wait a bit more than a couple of weeks before investing! Thank me in 3 or 4 years time, when your cash remains intact.

In passing I should also mention that I don't know how long 'patterns' take to be granted, but patents generally take a tad more than 6 weeks, especially if the subject matter is potentially of wide application and of any complexity.

I don't want to monopolise the game OSD, but i'll give you three to kick off with

1. you do not make empty threats

2. you have discovered who I am (at great expense)

3. you do not post about QBT on ADVFN using the handle 'Sharetalk'.

Your posting total here runs to over 3500. I have better things to do than trawl through that lot, but there seem to be some here with a lot of time on their hands who will be willing to do so. Or perhaps some have the techical knowledge to use AI to do it for them.

Or perhaps you should suggest to Gardin that QBT devises a 'method 'to do so? On second thoughts, scrub that. Even if he and his team set to work straightaway, you would still have had no answers in 5 years time.

Anyone new to QBT and dropping in on this board (or the ADVFN board for hat matter) for a heads up must look at and think 'If these are the sort of people drawn to QBT, I'm off'.

If guesswork is your bag, why not run a competition to predict QBT's closing SP at the year end? That would provide a bit of fun while you await news, and come the year end everyone will. be able to see who was away with the fairies, just a naysayer, or knew what he was talking about, and can filter accordingly for next year.

Not at all. We have fair bit in common. Engineering is not my field, but I can still remember how to coax life out of a Seagull or a Stuart Turner, and theological history and American literature (of the humourous sort) are a couple of my many interests, so i enjoy our exchanges. I enjoyFairy Tales (Pinocchio) too, so it is natural that QBT and Gardin intrigue us both.

I expect you had intended to use your Sharetalk handle to give your sermon an 'independent, impartial' plug on the ADVFN boards. Nil desperandum, you still can give it a plug there. The ADVFN set up has a very useful, private, personal messaging facility (it was via a PM there that I discovered that you are Sharetalk , and that you do indeed have an engineering background), so you can always PM some QBT bull there with a congratulatory post about the sermon for him to post under his name. By all means chuck in a derogatory comment or two about A4P as well, if that would cheer you up.

Probably I should have used AI. It would be instructive to try AI , and see what it comes up with. AI is rather wonderful.I t draws upon all the material available on the internet (far more than any of us would be able to find and assimilate) and produces an answer impartially based on all of it.

Stockopaedia's conclusion on QBT is very succinct: 'a sucker stock'. I wonder if it uses AI?I don't know.

One thing i do know though is that if I used AI to come up with an assessment of QBT's merits and prospects and that assessment was negative, OSD would post that I was telling porkies, that I had not used AI at all, and that the post was entirely composed by me! That response would make some sense: I am very surprised that OSD asserts that my unfavourable assessments of QBT are impartial conclusions reached by AI, drawing upon all ithe information available.

OSD flatters himself (that is not a first) if he imagines that AI would find anything much about him and his church from which to compose a post. That said, such little material as there is has all been provided by him, so any AI generated post relating to his church and ministry must necessarily be based on material he has provided, and will be impartial, fair and unbiased.

I contacted OSD privately to remonstrate with him: Tut ,tut. Breaching the confidentiality of the confessional box is a de-frocking offence, OSD. What would then become of your church, after it lost its only minister? What joys would be left in life for you if you were to be deprived of your frock?

He was not repentant. When is he ever repentant? But he did send men extract from the Order of Service for Evensong:-

It all sounds a bit more Lutheran than Greek Orthodox to me. Probably best not to evangelise for the new religion in the taverna during opening ours. I humbly suggest OSD that it would be safer to nail your 39 Articles to the door of the taverna when it is closed, and run like hell.

I guess she knows you well enough for that to come as no great surprise, though she may be startled by your new found modesty - she will probably have expected that you would at least have appointed yourself as an Archbishop.

It was from one such that I discovered your ADVFN user name. He also confirmed that you do have an engineering background . I don't think he is completely sold on you though because he added 'but he wasn't exactly in the Brunell league'.

I feel only 'moderated rapture' at the discovery that we have an acquaintance in common.
