Why exactly can't there be billions of shares? Why is that amount unviable for AMGO but perfectly fine for every other company that has that amount? The only reason it wouldn't work is if the shares became too cheap, at which point a consolidation is far more normal and likely than any fantasy situation.

The price of the RI doesn't have to be related to the current market price because it's meant as a way of extracting capital from existing holders. If you know how many shares exist, can multiply that by 19 and know how much they need to generate from the issue you can work out a price. If they use that or not who knows.

The rights price hasn't been set but the ratio has been announced officially as an "at least". Can do the math from the ratio and cash raised.

If you were being pessimistic! Nothing had changed since the last court run other than it's far more likely to pass. Far, far, far more likely. We had near 30p last time and the RI is a long way off so doesn't need to be considered in the short term. With the FCA taking a positive stance I can easily see 20p very soon. Especially with low availability of shares.

Indeed. The court is only there to judge the merit. It has no interest. It is there to make the things are done to the letter of the law and hear both positions. If there is only one position as long as everything is above board it passes.

I am quite surprised this is seen as good news. I assumed this was well understood to be frank. The SOA pass likelihood is as strong as it could be. Relending will be ok however a drawn out, slowly slowly process as previously announced. Keep calm and carry on. All good.

It assumes the SP reflects the portion of the value of the company. Naturally, the SP can be totally out of wack with company value / number of shares.

Also this smaller slice of a bigger pie is outright misdirection to fool those that don't know any better. Yes, the business as an entity will be worth more than now if saved and pulled back into profit. What is missed from that rhetoric though is just how successful the business needs to be and how big that pie needs to be to make that small slice palatable! All I can't work out is if it is being said through ignorance or purposefully to misguided.
