When two parties agree a trade peer to peer.

It's interesting because it's purposeful. For whatever reason. Could be related to shorts. Could be a transfer between two parties. Who knows.

Indeed. I am sure when the question is no money or something sense will prevail. Steve's logic (or lack thereof) hangs on the fallacy that a) Gary is bluffing and a no will not result in wind down b) enough shareholders will call that bluff when their entire capital is at risk c) The sanctioning about to occur has all of this baked in. But somehow there is a belief that the terms of the deal can be altered after court approval.

Yeah I've seen companies with a near zero sp, who are about to hit the wall be valued at multiple pounds on there. Useless.

Sounds about right for a transition period. Bog standard takeover transition. I don't think we can or should read anything good or bad into this.

The only thing nagging me with this is that there was a 2 hour window after notice and it traded sideways. Maybe they were just not paying attention or are hoping on mixed results and no strategic update. Seems a risky strategy.

100% the fact they only need to buy out the float is something that seems to get missed a lot. They can afford to pay a massive premium to do that and it barely touched their overall average (if existing holders expanded to take out PIs etc). Equally I am sure existing holders would insist new entrants pay close to what they paid to join the party and take this off market. Smart entrants would be loading from the market to find themselves in a position where they can take out the remainder at any price required.

Agreed. Far more likely to come in stepped rerates over time as the value picture starts to build.

I would concur but we didn't see any major action after with a few hours of play.

One thing to consider is the standard misunderstanding about debt. Debt is always considered bad but this is a misunderstanding and part of the haves and have nots divided. Debt is ok when it is to add value / buy assets. I am not saying this is ok and true in this case, I am not close enough to it. But a prime example would be interest only debt to buy to let. The rent covers the interest plus other ongoing expenses with luck. The property grows in value over time as an asset etc. Debt is only bad if you cannot confidently liquidate the asset to cover the capital at any point.

I agree, hence my view that these results are almost irrelevant assuming they are nothing unexpected. It's all about the long term plans for the big wins (or recoveries dep on your AVG).
