There is a lot of ignorance and FUD on this thread. Companies don't open their books unless there is a clear, credible offer that they are likely to accept. That is true everywhere. Equally they had to announce the approaches because Candy did.

It could but there is one thing we know for sure. Everyone would be selling at a loss. You would think that would dry up the sell side.

Indeed I am sat with a big pot of cash and just keep buying as the price drops. The price going down is only a bad thing if you are not confident or don't understand your investment.

They often use late reported trades from earlier in the day but report them at the published time.
