They did not know about the Vanadium leasing model.

They do now.

not sold a single share yet. They are waiting to get them back from TPEP no doubt.

Then if they are smart they will wait for the price to rise before they chuck the shares back to the market makers. We already have a strong suggestion that they understand that they should not take less than 26p for these shares, but will they be any more intelligent than this and wait for a proper rerate ? Time will tell, but I am not hanging around for that as I'll be buying more today.

Interesting how Doosan Bab**** were mentioned as one of the partners. I had a long chat about VRFBs with the Doosan Bab**** chap at the Energy Storage UK conference only last month in sunny Newcastle.

MenoMosso - sorry I am no longer making the trading analyses public as it gives too much insight to those that would simply wish to trade the stock and undermine the fundamental valuation of the business.

What I can say is that it is clear to me that the Market Makers have let TPEP, and perhaps others, close their short cheaply, at the expense of whichever foolish March 2018 placee has been selling since November last year. Ultimately it is easy to make money in a casino if you mess with the gaming tables and bribe the croupiers.

The other takeaway from this is that it appears that there are more Sells (i.e. shares going from external shareholders to the Market Makers) than would be necessary to fill the Buys that close the well advertised TPEP short (and perhaps others). It would appear that the Market Makers are simply printing shares for their own pot, which they are doing so that they have plenty of stock to sell into the rerate that is obviously going to come in the next few weeks.

For those who don't know what Erongo was it was the group of shareholders who got shares when they sold the Uis mine to BMN, who then subsequently floated it and the other Tin assets off as Afritin, anyone remember that - it seems like aeons ago.

Nick - they don't want you hoovering up all the cheap shares before they have managed to print them for their own pockets.

jimbo - you need to remember that many of those trades are simply duplicates that are inter-Market-Maker transfers, so all is not what it might first seem.

Nick - it is TPEP bailing out before they risk getting stung by Vanchem+Mokopane

that TPEP are now closing. Anyone stupid enough to try and ape their activity with a short of their own would be well advised to wake up and smell the coffee

Compass - I suspect that the rapid appreciation in SP from 20p to 48p last year was the origin of the fabled SP Angel 'be careful what you wish for' comment

Compass - it is not the ratio of the short position to the number of shares in issue in an illiquid market like AIM it is simply the relationship between the size of the short and the normal daily trading volume. The short position was 8M and this is significant in relation to the background daily trading volume which is perhaps only around 1M in the last 6 months.

Furthermore the external short position may have coincided with the MMs own short position, selling down some of the block of shares that were placed out at 10.8p in march 2018. The MMs made hay by selling more than they bought up over 40p and now they are milking the tame sellers for those shares at half the price. Between them could have made tens of millions of pounds profits off the backs of BMN shareholders in the last year.
