I make it 6,768,203 Buys vs 3,379,307 Sells so far today.

This makes a net excess of Buys of 3,388,896 as of 12:33:44

This is now getting close to the 4,064,471 shares that are currently held by Vaneck but which we are expecting to be sold (now that TPEP have closed out on their short) at around 26.0p

So anyone who is thinking of locking in any kind of sub 10% profit today, wait two weeks and you may well get many times this.

Daisydog - I don't see that many round numbered sells.

In fact I see an excess of 1.6M Buys so far

Daisydog and Jimbo - my take is that the 500K is a buy and the 150K, 250K and 350K are all sells.

Despite these there is still an excess of more than 2.6M Buys today. Normally this would have one concerned that the MMs were simply selling at high prices whilst they could as a prelude to walking it back down later. However in the current situation trading has been generally balanced since the 7th october, at which point I had estimated an excess of share Sells to MMs of c. 6M over the mid term.

(Between the 7th and 21st Oct there have been some large trades which appear to have been due to TPEP closing out on their short position, but I am assuming that they have been let out thanks to a supply of cheap shares taken from the tame seller that has existed since Nov 2018 and so the nett MM trade position has been unaffected by this choreography.)

Thus the MMs may indeed still have a healthy chunk of cheaply acquired shares that they would be happy to see rise in value tomorrow.

raffym - alas I suspect nobody got burnt on those as I think that these paired trades at the start and end of the day are simply some kind of balancing from an external market like a spreadbetting house

Degsy - Mokopane is one of the top 3 Vanadium greenfield sites in the world.

faramog - the 2016 Pre-feasibility study ( https://www.thebushveldperspective.com/slides/slide/mokopane-pfs-jan-2016-27 ) was based upon quite a different set of assumptions - V2O5 price - availability of processing plant etc etc so the DFS could change those things quite significantly to take advantage of our new situation.

mornington - it's a long story and to be frank if you weren't here then it might be considered boring.

dubmaskullanga - some of what I read today suggested that the battery was taken out after 1 use and then sent back for resmelting - you know melt the stuff, reduce it all back to nice new aluminium etc.

The trouble with that is that it takes 15 kWh of energy to smelt every 1Kg of Aluminium when it is made by smelting Bauxite (aluminium oxide).

We're told that the this card battery can go for 1500 miles - so 5 times the distance of a normal EV battery - this would put its stored energy at around 500KWh.

At 15kWh for every Kg this battery would need to weigh less than 500/15 = 33 Kg to store more energy than it takes to reprocess it.

Given that a normal EV battery is probably around 600Kg for 100KWh this supposed aluminium battery would weigh in at around 1/20th the weight for 5 times the electrical energy. This would require this 'battery' to have 100 times the specific energy density of Lithium-ion. This puts it on a par with the energy density of petrol (https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=3K43XC9J82Q 15:12) - not impossible in principle of course, but 100x times the best energy density of the best Lithium-ion batteries currently out there - come off it !

Ahhh I see on their front page they state 100MW/200MWh - so very big, but unlikely to ever be the world's largest battery as there is already a 300MWh Sodium Sulphur project in Japan.

Also the ratio of power to energy storage seems most unusual to me - I would have assumed at least 4 hours for PV storage coupled to a PV system.
