Anyone who has DMA Direct Market Access can participate in auctions. They can also buy on the bid and sell on the ask on all non SETSqx shares so mostly FTSE100 and 200 shares.

So say in auction I put in a line of 100k to 'buy' at 5.20 and someone looking to 'sell' 150k at 5.10 they would be matched off and a deal for 100k is struck at 5.10. You could be competing with others so someone might add a buy line at 5.25 for 200k and deal will be struck at 5.25 for 150k...etc...

The auctions happened several times today and they were all below mid point, there is always an auction at 4.30 so if any lines cross there will be a 'last' transaction.

UT trades have NOTHING to do with MMs....

If it is for a very small amount it can be games but 104k changed hands between a seller and a buyer at a mutually agreeable price. The buyer got a super price.

The deal was struck 11 days AFTER 30th Jun so all that rtise wouldn't count. Secondly, try selling those shares! They would probably come with a no sell clause for a period of time or a sell clause that would stop them dumping them all at once and crashing what was left of Avanti share price. Even if they didn't in an illquid share you sell in any volume that say 600% rise would be 100% at best. How long to sell without hammering the SP? ARC clearly wanted to get money enough to get them through to the final ARC payment and took what they could get near term. I still do not know where Avanti are getting money from as money raised wasn't for this payment....

Shares don't get to go up in a straight line because there are too many 10%ers and certainly few shares get 40%plus without it having to be cooled down by eager traders. The panikans create the extra volatility that sell long after the keen traders and dips quicken/deepen, but buyers are lurking.

Zak said 9-10p by end of the month not 3 days as the trend will get there with volatility in-between.
