What I think are key proposed changes for us:

Raising money as a listed company can be complex, and for AIM companies with a broad investor base, the process can create unwanted volatility in the share price. A new "Capital Access Window" mechanism will allow companies to voluntarily request a short, temporary suspension of their shares from trading while they complete a fundraising.

Concerns have been raised by some AIM companies regarding information, commentary or speculation being posted about them on bulletin boards or through other forms of media. In order to address this, it is proposed that AIM companies should have the option to publicly respond to third-party commentary, speculation or criticism. It has been highlighted in the consultation paper that, if this change is made, a failure to respond should not be construed as agreement with such commentary.

The current consultation closes on 2 July 2026 and following the consultation, the LSE will review responses and publish the final amended rules. No date has been set yet for the publication of the new rules or their implementation.

Alright, so I don't see there being another outcome possible. I don't think we won it, so potentially "that's it" for Choir project. ZTT was our consortium party, and they are not on the winners list. I have sent an email to PM to confirm this. Even though we had "the only approved feasibility study for Choir ", that seems to be of no significance as the auction is based on the lowest price of electricity the party is willing to accept.

Hmm right so based on the facebook post from the ministry the order is this below. They are now on lot 4 and the name matches the screen. We wanted Lot 1

Lot 1 info:

5 participants competed in the auction to select an Independent Power Producer for the 50 MW NPP and 30 MW/100 MWh battery storage system project to be connected to the “Choir” substation in Sumber soum, Gobisumber aimag.

⚡️The “Alhana Trade” company won the auction with a price of 6.65 US cents/kWh.

Therefore my conclusion from this info is that we didn't win this but we will wait for official confirmation. One chance is that we are under a consortium and Sunsteppe name doesn't appear as the winner, even though they are part of the winning bid.

Hmm I don't know. Previously screen showed lot 4 as Govisumber in the previous link if I saw correctly now the lot 4 is Uvurkhangai, lot 3 based on the ordering in previous posts. Can't say I get it! Will watch an in case our name pops up will let you know

Ah nice Gadgie, thanks! That's the live first auction where Sunsteppe is waiting for one project.

I think we were interested in Lot 4. At this point they have announced winner of lot 3. Lot 4 auction starts now. The winner will be known within an hour or so I think. Although on the rollup background Choir is shown as lot 1 which was not won by Sunsteppe. So I don't know at this point, let's wait for lot 4 results.

If the lots order matches this post then we will have to wait a but for now. It does say Govisumber on the screen, which is correct - the one one want I believe. Finally some live exciting event here :D

The ministry of energy launched a new 5-site auction for solar and battery storage projects, I'd expect Sunsteppe to participate as with the previous projects.

he Ministry of Energy of Mongolia (MoE) intends to procure approximately 110 MW of solar photovoltaic (PV) generation capacity and 52 MW / 188 MWh of battery energy storage systems (BESS) across five sites through a competitive procurement process (the "Auction").

Western Region lot:

Site 1 (60 Ha) – 10 MW Solar PV plant and BESS 10 MW/20 MWh IPP project connected to grid substation Bayankhongor located in Ulziit soum, Bayankhongor province;

Site 2 (60 Ha) – 20 MW Solar PV plant and BESS 10 MW/40 MWh IPP project connected to the grid substation Ulgii located in Bugat soum, Bayan-Ulgii province; and

Site 3 (100 Ha) – 40 MW Solar PV plant and BESS 20 MW/80 MWh IPP project connected to the grid substation Umnugovi located in Ulaangom soum, Uvs province.

Eastern Region lot:

Site 4 (35 Ha) – 10 MW Solar PV plant and BESS 2 MW/8 MWh IPP project connected to the grid substation Baruun-Urt located in Baruun-Urt soum, Sukhbaatar province; and

Site 5 (90 Ha) – 30 MW Solar PV plant and BESS 10 MW/40 MWh IPP project connected to the grid substation Choibalsan located in Bayantumen soum, Dornod province.

The Auction is being developed with transaction advisory support from the Asian Development Bank (ADB) under the Law on Renewable Energy of Mongolia.

The Auction will include the solar power plant, BESS and all related infrastructure connecting to the grid substation or the relevant connection point.

The selected private sector partner(s) will be responsible for the design, financing, construction, operation and maintenance of the Project under a long-term independent power producer (IPP) structure. To initially identify interested developers, expressions of interest are sought from companies with experience in developing similarly sized IPP or EPC projects.

The Government of Mongolia has identified and secured land for each of the auction sites. The successful bidder(s) will be granted the necessary rights to use the relevant project site(s) for the development, construction, operation, and maintenance of the solar PV and battery energy storage facilities, in accordance with applicable Mongolian laws and the terms of the project agreements. Further details regarding the land rights framework and site-specific arrangements will be provided during the tender process.

Interested developers may submit Expressions of Interest for both Lot 1 and Lot 2. The MoE reserves the right to procure through a single competitive auction covering all sites, or through separate competitive auctions for individual sites or groups of sites. The final procurement structure will be determined prior to the issuance of the Request for Proposals (RFP) documents. The MoE currently expects to issue the RFP in the second half of 2026.

Energy Minister B. Naidala received Mohammed Esan Khan, Director General of the East Asia Department of the Asian Development Bank, and exchanged views on cooperation. During the meeting, Minister of Energy B. Naidala briefed on the policies, principles and work being done in the sector, emphasizing that he is actively implementing the reform policy, while continuing the policies of the previous Government. For example, he noted that the Republic of Mongolia is working to present a strategic plan for energy transition in the near future. This includes the use of hydrogen and energy exports.

"One of the important objectives of Mongolia's energy policy is the development of regional cooperation and the export of electricity using its renewable energy resources," Minister Naidala said. Going forward, there is a lot of work to be done, including the energy demand of other countries, attracting large investments, and calculating how to develop together. These include the role and support of the Asian Development Bank. Based on the auction model of the Asian Development Bank, we have announced an audition for a project to build solar power plants and battery storage systems in five regions. This has been greatly supported by the experience of working with the Asian Development Bank. We are planning and working to announce more auditions in the future.

There's a lot of work being done in the energy sector right now. There is still a lot of work to be done, so support from all parties is important. Therefore, we look forward to further broader cooperation with the Asian Development Bank," he said.

Mohammed Esan Khan, Director General of the East Asia Division of the Asian Development Bank, said, "The Asian Development Bank has a long history of cooperation in the energy sector of the Republic of Mongolia and is actively cooperating on several projects so far. As you said, Mongolia is focused on building new resources and attracting investment. We see that Mongolia with abundant reserves of solar and wind has the potential to export energy. We will be happy to support the development of the energy sector of the Republic of Mongolia," he said. During the meeting, it was agreed to share information on projects and programs implemented in the energy sector with the bank and seek opportunities for further cooperation.

According to Tashram, our country is jointly implementing projects with the Asian Development Bank, such projects as "Increasing Renewable Energy", "Smart Energy System Development Project", and "Hydroelectric Power Plant in the Integrated Central Zone Network". A technical assistance project is also being implemented to "Accelerate the Development of Battery Storage Systems in the Asia-Pacific Region." The Bank's regional technical assistance project is aimed at increasing battery storage systems in countries such as Cambodia, Mongolia, and Vietnam, supporting renewable energy production (...)

There seems to be a lot happening with policy, regulations regarding energy. Should be no surprise but again this is Mongolia.

The positives are that it seems to be transparent, sensible and granted permits are going to be public, so we can always see what is happening. They will be published somewhere on this site:

The Development Bank of Mongolia and “Erdenes Mongol” LLC signed a strategic partnership agreement today (2026.06.11), initiating a new phase of cooperation. The Ministry of Energy of Mongolia (MOE), the government authority responsible for the energy sector in Mongolia, intends to implement an approximately 100 MW wind Independent Power Producer (IPP) project in Mandalgovi, Mongolia (Project). The Project will include the power plant and a 3 km transmission line connecting it to the Mandalgovi substation.

MOE has appointed the International Finance Corporation (IFC), a member of the World Bank Group, as its lead transaction advisor for the preparation and competitive tendering of the Project.

The MOE is now issuing a Request for Prequalification (RFQ) to parties interested in participating in the selection process for the Project. The selected developer will enter into a long-term Power Purchase Agreement (PPA) with Mongolia’s National Dispatching Center, and implement the Project on a Build-Operate-Transfer (BOT) basis.

The prequalification process is intended to identify a pool of potential applicants eligible to participate in an international competitive bidding process to select the developer. The MOE seeks to prequalify interested parties, whether single business entities or consortia, with prior experience in implementing wind power generation projects of comparable scale. The qualification criteria for applicants are based on technical, financial and legal capacity, and are designed to demonstrate a proven track record in developing, financing, constructing and operating wind power plants of comparable scale. In addition, applicants must satisfy certain business criteria, demonstrate minimum financial strength and be in good legal standing.

Interested parties are invited to send a request to the MOE to obtain access to the RFQ and to the information package containing wind measurement data and other information and studies. These documents will be made available for purchase for a non-refundable fee of Five Hundred United States Dollars (USD 500.00) payable to the account specified below:

The President of the Republic of Mongolia U.Khurelsukh met today (2026.06.09) with the representatives of employees and officials of the energy sector. In his opening remarks, Minister B. Naidala thanked President U. on behalf of the branch staff and presented the reform policy that is being implemented in the sector, which is based on one policy, three principles and nine jobs.

At the same time, he said, "The Government of the Republic of Mongolia intends to phase out major new sources and transmission network projects in its 2024-2028 Action Plan. He also set the goal of making the Republic of Mongolia an important player in clean energy in Northeast Asia through the expansion of renewable resources, energy storage systems, national high-voltage networks, and regional cooperation. This is not only the energy sector, but also the national security goals of the Republic of Mongolia and the development foundation for future generations," he said.

At the meeting, which was attended by about 800 representatives of the branch, the President of the Republic of Mongolia U. Khurelsukh presented a portrait of Lord Bogd Genghis Khan to the Minister of Energy. "Mongolia has a vast territory with about 300 days of sunshine and high wind reserves," he said. A discussion on the topic "Independence of the Energy Regulatory Committee" was held today, with the participation and exchange of views with the participation of the Minister of Energy B. Naidala, members of the UIH S. Tsengun and J. Zoljargal, as well as generations of leadership of the committee, representatives of the sector, and researchers. At the same time, the Energy Regulatory Committee discussed the concept and main objectives of the development of an independent draft law on the legal status of the Energy Regulatory Committee.

The main objectives of the draft law are:

• Strengthening the independence of regulators

• Implementing price and tariff regulation free of political influence

• Protecting the interests of consumers and investors

• Creating a legal environment that supports market reforms in the energy sector.

During the discussion, the participants emphasized the importance of the role of an independent, independent regulatory organization with professional capacity for the successful implementation of energy sector reforms. For example, the Energy Minister's "1 Policy, 3 Principles, 9 Jobs" initiative and the Mongolian Energy Transition Strategy until 2050 will not be measured only by new sources and investments. The implementation of these initiatives and strategies requires a system of politically independent regulation that balances the interests of consumers and investors, provides the right market signals.
