The people taking positions or intend to have a runway to Feb elections, this is now a target, whereas 2 weeks ago even an election wasn't on the cards.
Of course all the position taking isn't going to happen the week before the election, a:it is happening and b: BNP are favouritess.... you can start buying tickets now because they won't get any cheaper as that is the outcome that is best for GCM. How long do you watch before booking your tickets.....just now it feels like there are people hovering over buy buttons looking a deal, but if price keep going north with others hitting the button first then you need to decide to get in before price runs away.
By the stage of post elections people might be thinking of future funding but seriously if BNP are in power and in bed with Chinese (heck they are already being sounded out directly by Beijing) and talk of own resource use getting more funds will not be an issue, there might even be a queue. Note last raise had no warrants, tell me how many raises you have seen in last 4 years that didn't have some cheap addon. They won't get warrants on the next one either if the above comes to pass. I actually think at that stage the Chinese will start taking a position in the company as mining partners etc. We will lose some of the company eventually that is inevitable, but when you own so much value in the ground for an in demand product with 100% offtake easily obtained you might not have to give too much away.
The twist in all this run up to elections is any whisper of interim gov setting up the pathway for own coal in advance of elections, that will be a spanner in the works of anyone waiting too long. Despite Yunnus being a green supporter everyone knows that coal is there to stay in their energy mix for a generation at least. They need to reduce dependency on imported coal, on rubbish expensive coal, it is economic and actually a green enhancement to use own coal when you are going to be burning coal anyway! We might not get the extension to the plan of building more power stations, but they defo need allll the coal. There is only one project that can save their financial mess in the short term and that is GCM. They know about us and have had presentations using our plans. If they don't go with us and try to start looking at another site they are years behind and in a costly arbitration (more common these days). I think long term we will become partners and mine that whole region turning their underground mine into open pit as an extention to GCM. It improves their argument to using GCM pit that they will be mining there too. A country needed project! They are either using us and others/themselves or they are not open pit mining at all. It is getting rather more favourable to open pit mine and use coal for them....financially and on a world scale everyone else is starting to ramp it up, the people want power, want jobs and out of poverty. China is standing on the side lines waiting to help
