RE: Foreign investment sought while local investors face power, gas crisis1 May 2025 21:49
Adam, all this talk of election is hear nor there....it is happening, the only thing it might effect is another lights on raise..... however firstly the probability of an election being July is now remote, December is preferred by all the major parties if on Yunnus timescales, whilst Yunnus says that is earliest, parties would still prefer even earlier and Yunnus has said he'll go with the majority.... actions speak louder than words though. The commission will be done end of July and ready come September.... they even can call the election themselves if it starts to get real messy on the streets and politically over summer. The army might even have a say in all this, they want a Gov and they don't want shenanigans on the streets unnecessarily. There is only so many times Yunnus can try to delay the inevitable.
Second it is inevitable, it is going to happen, people will take positions once election is called, so even if later than hoped the fact it is happening is enough for investors (speculative ones anyway) to get onboard. The chances of BNP are high, even if not the other major parties will go coal too. What some people are ignoring Markets are fwd thinking, whilst some cautious investors will wait for election call, election, confirm BNP win and thennnnn let's go coal.....the price will no longer be here, it will be pricing more of the above in already. Any raise needed to get through to actual nod to start will be at a higher level than here, how high depends on the timing of the election of course.
Curve ball is any grumblings in the interim about coal and our project....plus any new info on PChina. There will be no signing of anything though until a Gov is in place that they can rely on to invest and BNP are already in China's sights. They'll be gunning to get started on the river project and adding in our project.... They'll need the overburden, they'll get it on the cheap in exchange for doing the mine clearance work.
Lastly it's not like they are not burning coal already as you say.....it's just where they get it is important and there are many good reasons to go own coal and our coal. With the river project now in play the coal could fall into place as PChina will be gunning for that too, easier to promote doing it.
