Many countries would LOVE that coal....Bangladesh needs export income! They also will have their own coal needs for much time to come, they cannot replace with renewables overnight and at a rate to fulfill their current energy needs never mind as they expand. Also the sun doesn't shine at night!

You start kicking companies out of Bangla and all your investment money dries up and your loans get cut short..... They need all the help they can get right now.

MMs hold little stock and rely on constant turnover to make a profit. When short term stock is taken then they need to move to create liquidity. If you have little to sell to market you move the bid up to find buyers and move until you get balance again. Currently 600k+ shares looking stock in auction that are buyers......that will underpin any drop as they will pick up the slack I'm sure.

Is the power plant not an addition? They can just pull the coal out..... plenty of willing users locally without having to build a PPlant to utilise it yourself? If they stop all import then be a fairly good local demand in just coal alone. Be a lot less expensive to start with a basic open pit mine and then use free cash flow to entertain additional power if Bangla would wnat and support.

Chat GPT not realling considering project execution is actually just shovelling material around and an open pit mine that is fairly basic procedure after years of other mines doing the same thing. Financing appears to have a Chinese Big Brother that makes things a lot easier and that there is a overwhelming local need to gobble up all the coal they produce don't even need to worry about international markets and shipping issues over time. International long term coal outloook may change but Bangla will certainly be utilising their current coal power plants for next 20-30 years......and any spare coal can always go to China whom will remain a heavy user for forseeable.

But I'd still like to see some proper economics actually produced for the project itself.....

Fact 1 - The country has and does use Coal Power Plants, they will not stop using those, even if no new coal plants are built they STILL need coal.

Fact 2 - The coal is imported and rubbish in comparison to own coal, there are problems paying for that coal and it is sending valuable money out of the country, solution use own coal. Better, more economic, less pollution and no money leaving the country and jobs

Fact 3 - Even if Bangla starts to reduce coal use, they would be mad not to flog it OUT of country to errr make money. It would be well sought after coal and plenty of users in the region.

Fact 3 - They need to move away from reliance on India that is tentative at best. There is spare capacity in coal plants they just do not have the coal.

Fact 4 - Bangla CANNOT move to reliance on renewables in any meaningful time frame, even the best solar producers in the world 'China' still need new coal plants to expand their economy...... Bangla is in the dark ages, they can't wait to get enough power from renewables to progress as a country. They will need fossil fuels and ESPECIALLY OWN RESOURCES to get moving forward and introduce renewables over time, they just have to show a desire for it to help the loans come in. A solar park is something to dangle as a carrot against the use of coal......but equally they would be importing crappy coal anyway, this is a move to own coal that mitigates the fossil fuel use by not transporting and burning better, and is economically sensible.

Muslims are by far the highest religious group, hardly new info. However, the country is ruled by secular laws and set in consitiution and all religions are respected. The are very moderate!

Someone definitely got the sell bug today but BID holding up well. Perhaps a buy order in place absorbing the sells.

A sell of 55k shares was mine but bought back 114k so it is all in my ISA. From this low 50-100p would be profit I'd like wrapped up!

Thats why they keep referring to minimising dilution at Mahenge using the silver.....or did you miss that bit. Until BKT is financed and building there is little point moving this Mahenge fwd. There may well be accoutnign reasons for doing the impairment, which appears to be reversible.

This was always pie in the sky opportunity to try to get a mining licence, but in reality no Government gives out mining licences without full studies of commercial viability etc.

It should be seen as a more likely outcome not to have got the licence than get it.....but it is AIM, full of nonces.
