You might get those paid in shares cashing some in for working capital (though last update the %s had not changed, though they might not report), LTHs having odd side trade, people not prepared for the long haul or they had money in here for short while and want to go back to what they were in, people stepping out for a trade elsewhere whilst it is quiet (see bit coin treasury frenzy!)

Posts that are not actually breaking the regulations are being removed. Anytime I made reference to WOS getting removed it was deleted.

An inverter is one of the big expenses of solar, each building will require an inverter for a small number of panels. It is not cost effective. This is more about initiative and leading the way with what is really a token effort. These are easy with no planning/Enviro will support the Gov offices to be net zero and maybe a few places next door might get some juice from it..... this is NOT going to feed factories! Current shortfalls in electricity are probably 1000 hectares of solar...... prime land will be covered. China has swathes of desert and barren land that they can devote to solar.

But hey, share price gets a bit fruity and like magic a new account with a few posts elsewhere and 90% devoted to GCM, doesn't look weird at all....

These are GOV initiatives..... Phulbari is a PRIVATE initiative and requires no input from the Gov other than the nod to go ahead. The point I have made is that the coal fields are linked, they couldn't get away with denying GCM but open pit mining the same area themselves. They have already alluded to building the open pit together....i.e. if you open the ground for Phulbari you can extend the pit to Bara. One big hole if you are going to make a hole. Only one can start operations immediately the other will take a good while to do assessment of, mine plan etc.

Gov budget is no reflection on the ability of Phulbari to progress.

They still need a new Government before any of that arrives and anything requiring power will wait to see stable and sufficient power, they will be waiting 10 years before there is anything remotely suitable from renewables. Until then it needs underpinned with good old fashioned fossil fuels. They are running out of gas, costs of importing gas are going up and they have a load of coal in the ground but currently over paying for poor burning and poor quailty coal....save money and improve green credentials just by burning their own coal. No change in how much they burn, it is CO2 better than importing and lost in thermal quality. In fact they end up with more electricity too.

Even if Bangladesh don't want to burn the coal themselves they can offload it easily and make some $$$$ for their coffers. Like UK could stop using oil but no reason not to sell North Sea oil to anyone else that wants it, because if you don't sell it to these people then someone else will and benefit from the cash....See NORWAY!!

Simply not time yet even for developed counties to transition fully nevermind undeveloped. China is tranistioning at a huge rate BUT still expanding coal, just not at the same rate but they are expanding in it too. The two can go hand in hand, not one or the other.

Barapukuria has no studies on open pit extraction and will take some time and money to do, however they know it is connected to Phulbari and that gives an indication of the prospect. There is no way they could get away with developing Barapukuria and not Phulbari as that would open them up to arbitration, besides it makes sense to make one large hole if you are going to make one at all and that would mean Phulbari aswell. More likely to see Phulbari kick started with a view to add Barapukuria onto it when further work and studies are done. They may even borrow some studies as a rerad across given how much has been done. I reckon it will include Power China and essentially end up as a tie in with GCM, either partnered or GCM get bought out and Power China and Bangladesh run with the whole thing. Better to take us out at say $1bill and have full control long term. It would destroy investor confidence in Bangladesh if they did the dirty so I would expect it to be above board if they wanted control. It also makes the project more acceptable run by the Government than a private interprise, perhaps why we do not see much in the way of presentations, reports etc this project is enormous and poor locals don't like seeing the numbers that others will ultimately gain from. Then again they want the jobs and security now more than ever so might be easier swayed with far more generous remuneration for their troubles. Power China and the Teestra project might be pushed as the relocation requirement and what is on offer takign some of the sting out of what GCM will have to offer and cost. There is so much money involved here and with the overburden now seen as valuable too, there is greater scope to pave the way.

Currently - zero poverty, zero unemployment, and zero carbon emissions - does not work, zero carbon is NOT comptable with the first two or bring about the first two.

b: complaining that net zero not getting as much love as recently..... no S''''''''' Sherlock, the rest of the developing world is burning coal and the mighty US is going back into it hard, why should a poor developing economy take the hard route, can see what it did to the UK and costs for th epeopl and losses in manufacturing due to high costs. Plus if no one is interested in funding it because it only works with subsidies then they need to fill the gap with what is available and cheaper.

C: They are not only short of power and money now currently, how are they going to fill the poer shortfall and increase it by renewables alone....simply not happening

These quangos are all great at pushing narratives that look good on paper passed to them by their overlords at WEF and DAVOS, but ask a Bangladeshi in the street, they'd burn whatever they could to keep prices down, budgets in control and security in jobs and industry.....

And as you point out it will be an energy MIX...... not one or the other, it will be from many angles to make up the short fall.
