Framework Agreement with NFC for 2 x 1000MW Power plants

MOU with Power China for Mine Development and Partner for Mine construction/mining and 2 x 1000MW Power plants

Mining Contract with Power China for Mine Preparation and Overburden removal (selective storage on overburden valuable material)

MOU with Power China on additional 2 x 1000MW Power Plants

MOU with Sion etc for FlyAsh waste conversion to Circulite (more valable than flyash normally used in cement)

Joint Development Agreement with Power China/Dyani for Solar Park

All these agreements rely on the Chinese slotting the project into their Belt and Road plus actively promoting the project with Government of Bangladesh. So GCM is not pushing for this alone. The Chinese State is very much got a hand in getting a foothold in Bangladesh for security and political reasons, bringing business to Chinese State owned enterprises, future energy policies allowing Chinsese companies to locate and operate in Bangladesh for trade reasons and possible coal resources for them..... reflected in the increased good will towards Bangladesh post Hasina removal and BNP Gov in waiting. There is a BIG Brother behind us and the connection with Bangladesh goes way over our heads and much more important than us. The Chinese have us as a very useful tool and Bangladesh increasingly now need what we have a licence for. Win win for everyone!

That UT should have been settled at 11am but they kept denying the UT for some reason.

Remember open pit coal extraction is not a fangled new idea, by moving to mine contractor any new improved ways of stripping or machines used the contractor will be most up-to-date given the Chinese have been still opening mines to date.

As long as the mine design has not changed, then the updates are really just a spreadsheet update. Putting in new costs and coal prices.

There have been updates in respect of the over burden and moving to mine contractor. I'm sure these things have been processed into the study as they went along.

Not sure the power plants were in the original study or was it just coal with idea of more power plants. There is a separate study required for the solar but that's being done by another party.

The value spent has created value. The project would have no value without it. The resultant value of the project is more than the sum of the money put in. Risk was taken.

GCM has fulfilled therequirements for SOD although some updates needed. To hold it as ransom to green flag the project is bribery.

$17b overburden easily covers cape and we already have MOU on place that states finance will be sought....

There needs to be some extra work to bring project up to date in a few areas but that's not a problem if it's being signaled it is going to get greenlight when complete, that is important part.

To legitimise the project in eyes of the public when Gov start declaring coal mining. We need their support.

Now there is no section on mining law that allows 'free % of' shares like some African countries try, secondly we already have the licence to mine.

In a deal for the SOD which would tantamount to a bribe I'd be okay with 10%..... any more and they will have to cough up commercial value.

Value based on project value or pre SOD (bear in mind they control that so slightly unfair).

I'd take $50-100m for 10% or $250m for 25% max give away. 25% probably to PC for capex funds... however they might not be a lot of over burden can offset.

Those values would be a steal given the long term value/income and sheer importance to Bangladesh.

Some traders who jumped on recent volume not been reading previous RNSs as that would have indicated low funds and this RNS is not a surprise....

In fact that whole para suggests reduction in domestic gas (running out anyway) and furnace oil (has to imported and price fluctuates and problems with supply due to middle east tensions etc) means they can show reduction in CO2 output to offset the increase in coal (which will largely become domestic so cheaper not imported, guaranteed volume and quality, plus saves on transport, new power stations with good coal very efficient and environmentally far better than previous)

Say cheap reliable domestic coal power without saying cheap reliable domestic coal power....

Small, medium and large scale environment-friendly power plants shall be established in order to put permanent end to electricity crisis.????

Bangladesh Government are running the timeline and narrative. GCM is playing their part by carrying out their role as required.

When they did that presentation about energy, any other AIM company would have shouted from the tree tops about it, but I think GCM just have to state mute and play along. The whole thing is sensitive and the Government has to lay the foundations before they can move forward.

The only way Hasina could stop GCM was to deny the SOD.

GCM has a mining licence granted over the project and to revoke would be big trouble.

In fact no one yet has denied the SOD.... just delayed because there is no reason from the studies or Environmental reports to deny. They would have to have a valid reason to deny and that reason would probably mean they couldn't give go ahead for any mine as the processes are well proven and in use. The schemes have all been done be independent qualified companies.

This is either getting a SOD or going to tribunal if they seek to mine anywhere else. They only way it won't happen is if they ban all open pit mining....however they can't do that because they won't be able to mine enough own coal. They must open pit mine.
