Fair enough. Not trying to annoy anyone, save anyone, deramp or any of that. I’ve always just wondered why not buy direct into MTFB. I guess, as coldspy says, it’s a binary bet with some serious upside or 100% downside. Could well be a great bet to make.

Jim: I’m not saying it’s all going to fail, I have no opinion on that. I’m just saying that it seems (with very limited knowledge of AMP) why you’d not just invest in MTFB directly if you’re here for approval.

But they counteract each other. If you have 8% in MTFB and gear up 5 times then you have 40%. Plus a bunch of other stuff that you’re diversifying with. If it fails and goes to zero you lose 40%. Gearing isn’t a one way risk.

Yes. But the point I was replying to was that the shareholding in MTFB is higher than the current market cap. If approval is given then MTFB will be worth more and so will AMP. But that’s an if and has nothing to do with statement of relative market cap. Also, if it’s goinng to get approval and go through the roof, why own this with 8.5% and clearly lots of debt when you could own the company direct?

They are cash constrained....and how much debt do they have?. They may owe a lot more than their MTFB holding is worth.

Yes it does look like a show of faith at 11.75p. Don’t think it’s traded there since September

If you want to look back it was the RNS that revealed the location as Iran, which also stated that the contracts had been signed and we were waiting on board approval letters before it becomes effective. 10 May 2018.

This is my thinking too....the 10p share price (before today) simply didn’t price in the new contracts. Given the history I can see why, but there is a better than zero chance that one or both will land this year so it has to be good value. And as an aside, the global economy is slowing, Europe is struggling, Brexit is not helping.....equities are likely to struggle in 2019. WSG is pretty indifferent to general market trends so is not the worst place to hide a bit of cash for medium term in my view

Well I’m confused GIbbo. I agree with you re the last TR1. 10.8771% - 13,133,333 shares. But the holding list on Bloomberg accounts for 98% (or 127.9m) of the shares in issue, and shows Canacord as 1.45m and HH has 123,334. Very odd. As I said I’ll check with them directly on Monday.

Oh no....... Jimzi’s doesn’t believe my holding!!! What will I do?!?!?!. So long as my brokers do when I sell then I think I’ll survive. I don’t really care who owns what, so long as they don’t have a controlling stake. The price rose on Iran / Africa is not going to be based on who owns, but the demand.
