I don't think you're alone Phil.....but most people here seem to agree that they are likely to do it this time (or they shouldn't really be invested here).

i'm not sure i'll know what to do with myself if they do sign Ghana.....i'll have an investment that makes money, has gone up in value and isn't likely to be coming back quarterly, cap in hand to keep the lights on.....it'll be like a troublesome teenager moving out and getting a job (hopefully a very well paid one)

funding is out the way.....now we can all worry/speculate about if/when the deal signs and what the terms will be

But was that becuase they knew they would be releasing the drilling results that day and it would tank if they were poor so they got a raise in to be safe?

I’m not saying it’s impossible. I’d just be seriously annoyed since they could have raised the £1m for a fraction of 10m shares plus warrants.

A share issue the day before a contract RNS might raise a few questions!!!

Said it before, that’s my main annoyance with the raise is that to me it indicates a longer wait for Tema.

thanks....apologies for laziness. £10 does seem a reasonable amount (from what i hear of other ports). i'm pretty sure i read somewhere that they were keeping the fees unchanged from the old port.....so these numbers would stand.

do you know what that fee covers? for example where does the payment for the cranes to unload and load the ships come from? is that part of the fee as presumably we don't get any of that?

all i know is this:

1: once again we've been disappointing by PF's cash management
2: once again it turns out his optimism on timing was misplaced
3: the outlook for WSG is basically unchanged....other than to me it implies that Ghana is weeks away rather than days.
4: the best time to buy is post placings and when this BB is all doom and gloom.

conclusion - i'm sitting on my hands (not like that Tosh!) and 3P timed his sale and repurchase very well.

Boris: they obviously don't "have" to sign the contract, but they are massively incentivised so the whole port doesn't clog up...to be fair they could just not bother scanning containers, but that's fairly risky.

Are you suggesting that WSG deliberately mislead the market so as to pump the price to let CC out, then they knew there would be a delay and they could raise a nice low price? are we really back to the theory that AIM companies like low prices so they can issue low and dilute themselves?

i love a good conspiracy theory. this, like all the others is flawed.....what is in the incentive to dilute themselves? PF has a fairly large holding

haven't a clue what's the issue with the contract.

just saying that we do have leverage. contracts take time, lawyers need certain bits in, other lawyers need some of those bits out.....things take time...and we're talking Africa.

WSG could have threatened to walk away after 30 days but that would have been silly as it's throwing away the deal because of a short deadline being missed.....the point is that eventually MPS has to sign the contract, and the longer it takes, the more WSG's leverage grows as the more the port grows (in terms of ramping up number of ships, not talking about building the next phase)

Foxy - the question is why would MPS do this? this is not a tin pot company striving to survive (i'm clearly not referring to WSG ;-)), it's a proper operation that needs reliable partners. yes they could save a few hundred grand maybe, and they are less incentivised to rush the contract as they're getting free work.....but they can't keep WSG on the hook forever, as eventually they would pull out and the port would have severe disruption until another service provider was found. this is not in the long term interests of MPS.

i still think we're looking at early August to get this thing signed....just annoying that we've seen further dilution in the mean time.

i'm sure that if/when the Ghana deal lands and some momentum is restored then PF's abilities will be lauded and all will be forgiven......but i do feel that whilst he's been very unlucky (Ebola, Trump, discovering that he know f-all about boats), he's been running the company too close to the wire on funding and has been far too rose tinted in his RNSs.

i'm sure i'll be very happy with the man in a few weeks post Ghana.....but i think this latest little trick makes me less likely to keep a large holding of shares after Tema is signed. i'm not convinced that this management team are quite up to it if i'm honest.

chapeau to you sir.....you called it and it happened. i remain hugely bullish and not selling a share, but this really feels like a kick in the teeth.....and i'm livid with PF.

my take is much as has been mentioned by a couple of other posters.............they clearly expected Tema to happen sooner and then they would have raised at a much better price (i think we all saw a raise coming, just many hoped it was post contract). what get's me is that PF runs this company so close to the wire that any delays (and there are always delays..even with the large Tech contracts) and he has to come cap in hand to the market - only he doesn't come to the market..... i'd have loved to take part in a 10p placing with an associated warrant...that would be some free money.

feeling pretty deflated, many because to me this means that Tema is not signing for a few weeks at the earliest....but i guess that's (as usual) not in PF's hands or knowledge.....so we may get a positive surprise.

could get a boat sale RNS before then too!!! but i think they'll slip that in with the Ghana contract news, or one related to KSA if they get one soon. i think that Bahrain stategic Alliance is a slow burner.

so just for fun, my prediction is:
1: CC TR1 - down to 0%
2: Ghana
3: KSA contract, with news of sale of the ******* boat
4: News that the old bad debt has been recovered along with a new long term managed service contract with the same client.
5: New material tech contract (over $1m)
6: Africa
7: Bahrain related win
8: sale of WSG
9: angry shareholders as it was sold for "only" £3 a share and we wanted to hold out for £5... :-)

i hope so....because it would be good to have them out (so there is no more selling)

i think that Tema will be an August event - just because we got an extension RNS on 17th and think it's likely that they did the extension to buy them weeks rather than days. July...August....makes no difference to me

this is how i like WSG...the BB is quiet, the share price as fallen and is feeling hideously low considering potential......this is the kind of time when the Lesser Spotted RNS likes to pop up and surprise. they are shy creatures and don't like to be seen in public when there is too much expectation in the air. they are becoming more cautious, owing to the recent history of their kind being brutally and mercilessly shot at by the goggly-eyes investor (notably the Great Crested AIM-Hunter).

if we all stay quiet we may just spot the greatest RNS of the season...the Ghanaian , sea-dwelling, Tema-Spotted-RNS.....i suspect by now it is quite plump having had extra time to feed on the rich pickings of Terminal 3 containers that are its cuisine of choice.
