Then how can PCR be the ‘gold standard test’ it’s an economy crippling test that fails to identify who’s infectious. Ridiculous that we have put up with it for so long.

BITL, as has previously been put to you, why then does AS say that the max level of infectiousness is CT27? You call these testing methods ‘incomparable’ and yet they are constantly being compared with PCR being touted as the gold standard. (Except that it apparently can’t differentiate between Covid and Flu and is set at a level of sensitivity that is bound to overstate the number of cases and ergo deaths ‘with’.

You expected them to be helpful? I would imagine that the infectiousness level is drawn at anywhere they can find any little fragment of potential virus all the way up to 40 cycles. It’s like I’ve always said, PCR can be manipulated- dialled up or down according to how the Gov wants us to behave at any given time. Thus far they have kept up it at 40 cycles since the start of the pandemic. How else could they possibly justify lockdowns?

The question is that if it’s now being admitted that PCR testing (or at least the CDC’s PCR testing) can’t differentiate between Covid and Flu, then how many cases and deaths from flu have been wrongly ascribed to Covid? After all, we miraculously had zero flu last winter.

Avacta has no plans to develop such a test since influenza tests are readily available and it is very straightforward and quick to run the two tests separately.

But it’s good news for highly sensitive and specific lateral flow tests.

I don’t remember seeing this discussed, but apparently the CDC will cease using PCR from December this year because of its inability to distinguish between Covid 19 and influenza.

Suggest we all do this cc Rishi Sunak, given that he needs to find the missing money and is now apparently at loggerheads with Boris. I think he would use this now for political gain.

Once the money-making potential of vaccines has been exhausted, we will no doubt move on to tests and therapies. We should still get our day in the sun. Hopefully the collaboration with Daewoong on therapeutics is still in play.

I don’t think we need have any doubt that the Great philanthropist has Avacta on his radar. Question is whether that will pan out well for us?
