Nowhere has anyone said they’ll drill upto 30 per year he said IF they get the investment the field could handle 30 producers and that could be by 2030 with investment and dependent on revenue. That’s circa 6 per year. Which as I say is indeed less than 30.

I’ve simply shared your figures that showed per 100 drills PC got 52 producing wells. If the success rate got better the more they drilled that would make sense. The more you know about the land the greater the chances of success I imagine. We’ve drilled 2 so far…

I do agree perhaps technology and / or geology might mean the expected returns on Heron are different. Could certainly have a sensible conversation about that. But you’d equally need to recognise we’re also currently running at a 1 in 2 delviery rate - and our side of the boundary might be WORSE as well as better.

The AGM answer as to how many might be delviered between 2025-2030 was that it was dependent on funding but based on Block 19

So the best case with funding is 30 producing wells by 2030. Not per year.

To my knowledge nowhere has the company stated a strategy of 30 wells per year. But I’ll play along - is that producing wells or does it include the 48% that will be drilled but produce (like PC)?

Feel free to answer the question yourself then WOS - what is the almost 100% confidence on a Heron JV or field sale being done this year based on?

I just quoted the factual comments of the CEO. He doesn’t expect a deal to be on time for this years drilling. I do understand there’s a difference between completing a deal this year as Thorn claims and not doing it in time to drill this year, but given those comments my question still stands - what’s the near certainty based on?

The same certainty that told us to expect 4-6 producing wells this year?

When it takes 7 months to draft and sign an agreement to sell oil, forgive my scepticism on the speed of a full JV / sale.

As already covered I might be wrong, I’m not the one giving the SP predictions of 5p by June or a near 100% assurance on a deal.

I really hope there is a full field sale, it will be hilarious seeing the value compared to the expectations here. And then you’ll all pivot to saying how great Block 7 and renewables (which nobody understands) are.

People who are confident don’t feel the need to comment on every minor tick up, either here or on oil.

They’re going to try and improve the only producing well to try and make it more appealing to a buyer / partner. I don’t think there’s much more going on than that. Obviously in the meantime a buyer might spot the distressed financial state of the seller and make a low ball offer to prevent another raise.

Similarly, I think people are mistaken if they think a JV would front cash up front for the privilege of wholly funding future wells given the underwhelming and uncertain returns so far delivered.

Might be wrong though - I don’t offer almost 100% assurances about my own dreams. :)

1. Status of PC & Export signatures

He pretty much conceded he doesn’t know and it’s in the lap of the PC gods. Interestingly nothing has been said about the export licence since they said they could only apply for it after a deal was signed.

It’s very pressing to know when income might be expected and difficult to plan without that understanding.

2 Work plan & costings for 2025 and current status (I'd like to think some of it's started already...)

I didn’t get the impression anything was imminent. I think it’s widely acknowledged Heron 1 will be first but the others are still in planning stage. Back to point 1 how much £ they want to commit to Heron 1 will perhaps depend on how near the revenue is. Would be very risk to spend say a third of all available cash to fix the one producing well with no deal to sell. I suspect they want the deal first but might well be wrong.

3. Update on talks to "secure a partner to accelerate its oil development activities"

I think the clue was he didn’t expect it to be complete in time for this years drilling season (November). That tells me nothing is remotely close, as did the fact the company said they stepping up their efforts to find partners. I suspect potential partners would want to see the remediation work carried out, especially on Heron 1 and 2. Without that a JV would presumably be on much worse terms to MATD.

Just some opinions on each of those milestones, polite disagreement welcome
