RE: Well 730 Jun 2020 23:23
MK111,
"I know it's probably a finger in the air question without data but I'm interested in what you might think of well 7z 's future going forward. I know there some serious reservations here."
I don't know who that question was aimed at, but I'm pleased to respond, as it's the stuff which interests me. The 'oilfield technical side'. This BB has become swamped with people talking financial 'technical analysis' and making predictions which turn out to be wrong, day after day. So why shouldn't I make a slight 'oilfield technical prediction' ? It may turn out to be wrong, in the same way the chartists obviously are so far, but at least it's an informed guess (though based on very sparse data), and not just making fancy graphs which can be changed at a mouse-stroke.
First of all, I don't believe any BIG decisions will be made about 7z in an immediate future. There's too much at stake. Of that I feel fairly confident.
In other words, we're still in the 'experimental' stage. The well hasn't behaved as expected pre-FoiL, due to this pesky 'perched water' zone. But not all lines of inquiry have yet been opened, particularly the ESP's (Electrical Submersible Pumps) installed in the completion string. For reasons unknown to us, the surface control equipment for the pumps still hasn't been fully commisioned, though it may be CV19-related and 'manning'. The ESPs are another weapon in the armoury, but still wrapped in greasepaper.
Since before (but more importantly, including) the CMD, talk of an 'intervention' on the well, but ever since, it's gathered traction, espetially with the Edison report. For months, and before the CV19 madness started, I've personally said I reckoned an 'intervention' (or re-entry workover) to be folly, and I'd sell out if it went ahead. But too late now, 'cos I've already sold, maintaining just one share!
I even reckon that the idea may have been a technical bone of contention within the BoD with Dr Trice, and a factor in his resignation.
As for 'plug and abandon' ? Unthinkable. It would leave the company as a one-trick pony.
Likewise a 'sidetrack'. Exceedingly risky, expensive, and difficult. Better to drill a new well.
One way or another, nothing's going to 'happen' to 7z in the near future that requires a rig moving over it, because no permits are yet logged as having been applied for with DECC, for approval.
I believe this share still to be 'news related'. And news released by the company has nothing to do with MM's, candlesticks, or people making fancy charts on their laptops at home. And it's also only marginally related to PoO and 'green issues.
I'd love to know what 'Grampian Sceptre'is up to, but she's going to Lincoln, not Lancaster.
