Fleccy. Please can you elaborate on your share holdings against your £25,000 dividend income.
It is all well and good repeatedly stating you have a combined income of £25,000. But that is only good if the yield is say 7%, the ftse average.
However it’s more likely you have a yield of 3.5% and a capital loss of 50% against the few companies you own. On that basis , Mandy is within his rights to challenge your ethos.
Personally my yield is 5.85 which is higher than BT’s current and based on reinvestment and tax incentives , much lower
