Are you really suggesting that the SP has been kept in the trading range it has since last February to allow LD to be gifted a cash windfall?

Having had a look at the general EMI provisions the Taxation treatment (potential CGT charge of 10%) seems like a great way to unlock some value from an attractive plan that will lessen the dependance on the Company which will either make her asmall fortune (or a very large one)through other holdings.
With the value taken now and the remaining share incentives remaining a great way to use the success of Scancell so far towards a secured future?
Seems a reasonable assumption whether you think Scancell will succeed or not.

I'd be surprised if she saw any of the cash.
Would you want your future (Pension?) to be dependent on the Share price of the company you've been instrumental in building up? However much you believe, given the other options she has I'd say that the Employee benefit scheme shares might not be the best place for those funds if they really are supposed to provide security for the future. Don't forget that she's got a massive return from the remaining share interests if all goes well so using the tax efficiency (maybe) of the Employee benefit fund might be a useful means of crystallising some "profits" now to featherbed her future.
Just trying to rationalise what the changes were all about.

Sadly I think we need hard positive news specific to Scancell to see a rise in the SP.

Sadly the early stages of a small Bio Company with promising products is not as good as a small Bio announcing spectacular trial results.

The death of close family members is something that nobody is ever really prepared for but when it does happen the grief is real and painful.
I hope you will accept my sincere condolences for your loss.

What's happened to the Reccing Crew? They seem (so far) to have deserted their champion GF come on chaps!
I'm also surprised that RW isn't there to support him, but maybe there's too many posts to keep up with!

RP the circumstances of Scancell's position i 2012 were so vastly different as to be valuless in attempting to strike comparisons.
The completion of the P1 for Scib did lift the SP in December, but the burden that Moditope brought to the table was the main director of the disappointing performance that the company produced for the following eight years.
Everything is completely different now.
The trials are the main gamechangers in that good P1 and early P2 data on one platform alone will move the SP, but it also has the knockon on validating part of the IP which is likely to trigger moves which could affect the future direction for the company as a whole.
As you say the more promising data the more likely valueadded to the shares.
All of this might happen before the data arrives, but any potential suitors for the company are likely to want to be involved in front of declarations of results that might increase the cost of "Buying in".
These are the sort of discussion which were taking place about Scancell in 2012 but they were way in front of the reality of where Scancell might have gone.
We are now moving rapidly towards that reality and for good or bad it would be strange if the SP didn't improve significantly at some stage before September 2022 (subject to good data and no unpleasant surprises).
I believe that trying to put amounts and dates on those changes is at best ill advised or at worst foolhardy.
I believe that Scancell is now a promising short term investment (rather than punt). Its not guaranteed and the risk of failure hasn't gone, BUT at least we're heading towards the production of Data.
Things are very, very different from August 2012 when Moditope was announced.
At least I hope that's the case!

If it was like 2012 it would have flown by 15-20%. at least.
C7 called the SP getting to 24/25 today. It didn't happen.
There was a further call that the SP would finish 10% up by the close.. doesn't seem to have happened. Why not?
You seem to have backed yourself into a corner where when DE stops selling (if he actually is) the SP will fly. Seems a bit harsh (if not unlikely) that one man who doesn't even have a notifiable holding is keeping the SP flat for weeks and weeks, and even when the best news since 2012 has come out!
No GF, I think that you need to stop calling the shots for a bit. They're singularly (or maybe collectively) falling on your toes at the momemt.
Sit back hang onto your great big shareholding (you have indeed been clever getting them all - and so kindly sharing your vast investment fund with us) and perhaps wait for some significant Trial Data to emerge.
I'm sure there will be some good days for the SP but the real game is llikely to come with Trial results.
Maybe waiting rather than trying to tell everyone and getting it wrong time after time would be good for your temper.
The good bit though is that evryday that goes by brings us closer to the morning when your prophesy for the SP for that day will be right!
Now there's a thought. You get it right and my holding goes up in value. We'll boith be happy won't we?

Since the IP's valuation depends on the success of Trials which have yet to begin it's probably a little previous trying to link the value of the IP to support a (relatively cool) SP reception to the RNS this morning and at the same time attempting to compare the news today to the announcement of Moditope in the circumstances of Scancell's shares in issue nine years ago.
Sorry, the two events are just not in the same league.

Maybe there's more than one seller, or maybe there's only one seller who holds shares that make a 10M stake look small. That seller might turn buyer when the demand for his sales recedes and the SP retraces as the wait goes on for data.

For heavens sake compare the number of Scancell shares in issue in 2012 and now. Go and have a look. You really don't expect Scancell to behave like they did nine years ago?
I thought even you you understood markets a little better than that.

Highly significant news - if not brilliant - and now (from a Market point of view) it will be very interesting to see how far the SP is allowed to rise (and moreimportantly) consolidate.
Seems to me that this might indicate the start of the real Commercialisation of Scancell's IP.
