I rather doubt that DE has sold 5M shares, as I doubt he is cash strapped and that he is incapable of arranging a large share placement should the need have arisen.
Since GF 123 states that DE has;
1) Sold C5M shares
2) Is cash strapped (hence the sale of the shares).
3) is incapable of arranging the placing of a large number of shares without alerting the market.
It looks to me that GE is at deviance with the probablilty of what has been going on.
It'll be interesting to see whether the remaining 5M shares are dumped on the market in an unprofessional way as GF suggests they will have to be.
All in all I doubt that GF has really got it right (and there's still so many shares left to sell)!
I suppose I'll be asked the "clever" question again by GF.
If (hopefully) not I have clearly made my point and it will be sensible for my antagonist to agree to disagree.

I would like to suggest that the simple, logical reason for the sales is set out earlier which is;
A number of “in profit” investors paying a little insurance premium to secure some of their profits to date from their Scancell punts.

Interesting views on all this.
Here are some thoughts to ponder.
Although many have been questioning why anyone would sell Scancell shares now (apart from DE who seems to have been labelled by some as a know nothing cash short punter) why is it that when the SP has been higher and sales have been seen that nobody has decided to publish/guess the names of those who sold into those rises.
We know about C7 (who sold at the top of the market) but no one else has been labelled as a seller AFAIK.
So to apply Occam's Razor principle maybe what's happening is several investors are lightening their exposure.
Some who have had bad experiences of AIM and will be holding significant profits are merely crystallising some profit they already have and redeployed the released assets to new opportunities?
Perhaps there are some investors out there who have learned that holding and holding and holding however well the prospects for the company are spun, a bird in the hand is worth two in the bush. As we all know if something major was to go wrong the chances of getting rid of a significant number of the Scancell "Golden Tickets" at 20.6p might not be quite as easy as it is at the moment.
This won't worry the majority of LTHs who’ve been holding here for nine years or so (and been in profit for less than a year in the majority of cases) because they have become used to sitting on their shares and awaiting the day when everything changes. The changes we've seen in the last year however are mainly built upon Redmile's investment of a great deal of capital and the Kudos that investment brings with it. OK we’ve got trials ready to go but First Dosings?
It's been less than a year since the big bucks have arrived, and that investment has been instrumental in shoving the SP up to levels where most of the LTH have relaxed into assuming that everything will be good now RM's here.
RM's capital is the lubrication to the BOD's wheels.

We've had the money for nearly a year but the CEO's gone, with a previous CEO being put back in post (but no longer on a joint basis?).
Is LD still the CSO? Looks like it.
That's a fair bit of responsibility. I assumed that the CEO role would be temporary but maybe that's not the case. So who's going to chase up the Commercial side of the company? There's about thirteen months to “D Day Scancell” (when the CLNs become repayable unless anything happens between then and now).
The previous CEO has presided over nearly a year of the company being "In the Money", but he's gone!
Why?
As demonstrated, Scancell is rapidly moving into the second and of the RM era.
So is it so strange that there's been some who might be selling a few shares as insurance against the wheels falling off between now and CLN day (however unlikely that may be)?
20.6p; perhaps a significant price in the odyssey that is Scancell.

I don't believe DE stated he needed funds. You said he did.
I don't believe DE would "Bodge" a sale of a large holding of shares. You are saying he is.
I don't believe that DE would wait for the Share price to weaken before selling. You are saying he has.
I don't suggest that DE is a liar. You are suggesting just that.
I don't believe that I have to answer to your loaded suggestions in your 21.44.

Because anyone with any professional nous in the market would never make any of the suggestions about who is selling why they're selling and how badly they're handling that selling.
You have made accusations which are unsupportable, and frankly undermining your own position as a leader in Stockmarket Investment. Your comments aimed at DE show a complete lack of understanding of investment techniques.
Sadly I think the emperor's clothes you wear have slipped badly over this issue you've got yourself into.
I would never try and pin sales onto an individual, and anyone who does without proof is a complete novice when it comes to investing.
UNLESS there is a good reason to suggest it, and you have no good reason to make the three statements I have outlined, and you have studiously failed to address in the course of these exchanges.
As I said before you have demonstrated a startling naivety in this case.
I've nothing more to say on this, unless you can produce some evidence of substance to your argument.
Interesting that evidence is something that is missing from many claims on Scancell's BBs generally.
Let's hope the company will be able to put that right with some trials and results we all wish for in the (not too distant) future.

I think you display a touching naivety when you take DE comments on a BB and then extrapolate into by who , when and why the shares are being sold.
You haven't explained why you think DE needed the money, you have his holding wrong (in shares held at the time of his posts) and you haven't explained why you think a seasoned \market Operator would (as you decided he had) sold - or was selling - his holding in poor market trades in a way that you cannot prove he was.
Basically you have decided in your own head what has happened without a shred of evidence to back your theory.
I think that that is a poor reflection on someone who purports to have a High Level Investor knowledge which your posts about these sales we are seeing suggest. You have jumped to a conclusion and have built a very shakey case around some incorrect suppositions.
I think you are wrong, for no better reason than I don't think that DE would open his position as you suggest. In fact why would he not have set out on this course of action when the SP was higher?
No, I think your superior view of your own investing prowess is not applicable here. I think you have made statements that you cannot support at the expense of an Investor who knows a great deal more about the Market Scancell operates in than you ever will.
In fact even suggesting who when and the amount odf DE's "divestment" shows a sad case of misjudgement when trying to make sense of what is happening in Scancell's shares of late. Your unsupportable conclusions are not the thoughts of a successful market analyst. They are dangerous (until you can provide some proof).
So there's the challenge GF;
How do you know, why does DE need the money and if you think he's sold half of his holding and you don't know how many he started with are we to believe you?
I find that difficult anyway.

1) DE is about halfway through his divestment
2) That DE needs funds now
3) And that you don't believe that he is carrying out his sales as he should be because he is dripping his shares into the market rather than negotiating a sale of his entire amount.
You make three rather (unlikely) assumptions as if you know what he is doing.
Whilst speculation is OK I really don't understand why you try to make a respected market operator out to be someone who you seem to belittle all the way through your post when actually you are very unlikely to have any clue as to:-
1) Whether any of the sales are from DE
2) Whether he actually needs funds now (and I rather doubt that is correct).
3) Whether he is disposing of any shares in such an unsophisticated way as you imply.
It's a very strange way to explain why any sales of shares must (according to you) be from DE.
Since we are dealing in supposition I will suggest to you that the sales have nothing to do with DE.
Why?
Because he is more of an operator than that and has had more significant positions in Public Companies than you have ever had.
So unless you have any proof of any of the (rather unlikely) suppositions you have made I think you have posted a rather unlikely scenario.
Having said that any idea how many shares you think he's sold to support his cash shortage you say he needs to put right?

As to the other point you raise, maybe a discussion by the group on the BB would bring forth some Ideas. There must be some opinions out there?

I would suggest for the same reason that the Shareprice was not allowed to climb too high since February this year.
Scancell has been much less volatile (both up and down) price wise recently.
What does that suggest?
