Something rather striking is how they plan to do validation for eyes off hands off.
If i understand correctly the dataset needed for validating eyes off i.e L4 capability would be in the range of 10 million hours of real data.

MobilEye's Solution

OEM would be to launch the vehicles first with eyes on hands off i.e L2+
Validate over 6 months that is millions of hours of data
Enable eyes off if validation successful
Validation date will not be used to retrain the system, only for validation

Summary - Even L4 models will need DMS to do the validation phase :)

what did Seeing Machines win with Ford? its the veoneer platform for blue cruise. These are all high end models.
SEE did not lose any existing models in the bluecruise segment and ActiveGlide.
After reading CB's comment, i think this was to be expected that low end models in rush to satisfy EU legislation might select the cheapest DMS. Ford in interested in SEE because they want BlueCruise to work. But where there is no 2+ hands off driving it might well select anyone

i remember someone warning the smart eye investors in their forum to get out when the price was close to 200 sek.
Dude was thrashed and ignored.
It was quite obvious to many LTH here for some time now, and the acquisitions was the final red flag.
i wonder if any OEM will be willing to give any contracts to SEYE, till their future is secured
