RE: The BBC/Marr20 May 2019 09:39
Remember a few (quite a lot actually!) years ago? We all knew who the Director General of the BBC was, as (it was usually a) he was frequently called on to explain various actions the BBC had taken, as well as being a subject of quite a few comedians. Seems the BBC doesn't need to explain itself anymore. Do they still do "Points of view"?
Now we hear nothing from him )the DG), most of us (including me) don't even know who he is, it used to be common knowledge.
Even in 1930's Germany everybody knew who was head of propaganda.
There has been a subtle and unpleasant change in this country since " that nice" Mrs Thatcher "shook things up".
We don't know who our ministers in government are anymore as it appears this country is run by a succession of dictators. Chief dictator being, it would seem, the Chancellor of the Exchequer, arranging funds to help the poor rich.
We really do need change, on a very large scale, but keep the people uneducated and they won't even realise it.
