Just informed by my facebook queen daughter that it’s £20 per account to vote at the meeting? She says it’s on the Sirius minerals facebook group. Anyone cast any light on it?
They are huge supporters of AA.L but then again most places are not letting you know, i already contacted and passed my no vote
All the talk of voting no and no caring if you lose the lot, makes me realize that you are just plain stupid. I’m out.
If your holding is with the above you have to call them in Glagow office to log your vote, they have not volunteered any info on smart investor platform. Just voted No.
Never look back....
Hello Liam,
I wish Sunday Times had reached out lot earlier, it may be too late for your readers to get idea of pain and havoc this takeover has caused not only to local but up to 85,000 private investors. But I'll email you my family views.
"Anglo American is in the midst of a messy £404mln takeover of punters’ favourite Sirius Minerals, which ran into funding problems last year.
The bid, which had been expected to go through on the nod, is now the focus of interest from Odey Asset Management, which reckons Anglo has the scope to increase its bid by 40% to 7p a share."
Hello all,
I put a call out for views last week. I'm a business reporter at The Sunday Times and we are writing about Sirius in this weekend's paper.
I am looking to speak to small shareholders to get their views — especially those who live locally.
If you're happy to have a quick chat you can reach me at: liam[dot]kelly[at]sunday[hyphen]times[dot]co[dot]uk.
All the best,
Liam
Just sold my holding at an approximate 75% loss :-(
I'm not convinced another investor is going to come along, timing is too tight now, and even if they did the potential upside might be +1p or +2p (absolute maximum) but no more that that whilst the current downside (and my current risk) is going to be 5.25p (based on my sell price). If it all comes good I might reinvest but for now whilst I am disappointed with how this has turned out I've at least got some cash to invest elsewhere (my managed funds are doing well with one up 20% over 12 months so that might be a safe haven).
and interesting to note they have bought some shares to go with their CFD, meaning they'll be in attendance at the meeting next week.
And Odey bought another 6.6 million...……
Zero chance of this going into administration immediately after a no vote. They have funds until end of April (since slowing down activity per SR) and, while the BOD are not incentivized to get off their backside now (because they're in bed with AAL), if AAL are kicked into touch Frasers 7 million handout is on the line and that might be enough to get him off his backside and look for a plan B
I just can't see a higher bid coming unless it's before 3rd March. If another party is eying us up now there's no way as I see it they are going to risk losing us to a yes vote for AA. Anything after a no vote won't be a takeover from another interested party but more a cash injection from one or more of our II to protect their holding. That's why I've voted no. Either another bidder is going to step out of the shadows at the last minute before next Tuesday or failing that and a no vote II helping us go back to the aim of our SR.
The quandary for me is whether ( providing the shares aren't suspended ) to sell next Monday if no other party has put in a rival bid (providing we're still above 5p) with the intention of buying back in on the back of a no vote and the inevitable collapse in share price which it shall precipitate.
A higher bid can be accepted after the Court Meeting on the 3rd but before the Court Hearing (before the 20th March but date not yet decided). Read the open letter from Odey, they think that's when a higher bid is most likely going to occur.

which is why a lot of us do not think SM will go into admin in the event of a NO vote- unless they wish to spite us back.
Honestsiriushold, see Edulis' comment. His view is that the FL does not sing until the Court approval Hearing meeting.
Oops, seems it is the other way round. HL say "The Scheme will be approved if Shareholders who represent a majority in number and hold at least 75% in the value of the Shares voted, vote in favour. "
I only hold 32,000 shares in SXX at an average of just over 5.5, if the deal passed I lose a couple of pounds, however the whole affair just doesn’t sit right with me so I have put in my Against vote and a £1,850 pounds loss I can take if it goes to insolvency.
690,000,000
9.829%
Concerning the share certificate number and investor code HL just informed me:
With regards to casting your vote with Link Registrars, we are under the impression that shareholders can provide their secondary details in order to place the vote, and shouldn't need any of the details on the certificate. As long as your name is a registered shareholder, this should be enough for Link to place your vote.
….now owns 1.4%.....calls deal a mockery......will be voting no.....(Money Mail)
No, Chesh, as I understand, to approve the AAL offer requires of all eligible to vote both a simple majority by number of shares AND a super majority of 75% by number of shareholders.
Thanks, Edulis, I sort of assumed that from the Odey open letter, but it seemed somewhat strange that a rival offer would interrupt the process if and once the shareholders had agreed to accept the AAL offer. Anyway, anyone with the resources to make such an offer will have the wherewithal to know the procedure. The main reason for my question was to understand until when a rival bid could emerge, and you confirm it is until the Court approval Heading meeting on or before 20th March. A further question is how and when the final date for the Court approval Hearing is set.
Can't get my head round any of the BOD walking away with ANY money in their pockets, so just placed my vote with HL...
A big fat NO.
If receivership happens then at least I'll feel happier with myself.
A higher bid can be accepted after the Court Meeting on the 3rd but before the Court Hearing (before the 20th March but date not yet decided). Read the open letter from Odey, they think that's when a higher bid is most likely going to occur.
SM never bothered asking the +50% owners of the company if we would like to help raise the $600m
So if we demonstrate to them that we can do so, we may yet fend off the AA bid and get to keep our shares. Please visit the dedicate website setup for this here: https://fundsirius.com/
This is really important and our best chance of KEEPING OUR SHARES IN SIRIUS MINERALS
PLEASE tell everyone, we need this to go viral to reach all the 85,000 shareholders and people that just want to help It does not matter if you are an existing shareholder - EVERYONE CAN DO THIS
Not been following, but I suppose the x2 yes votes refer to x2 large holders........?
All the best (I'm assuming :)
