Im not local fred i live in lincolnshire ,not far away, the finacial s in the last year could be better explained by some on ere , in a better educated manner than me , the finance since last april is the real story , the losses are a story of course ,but fraser and the bod is the real journalism ere
dogstar
AAL's history at Boulby suggests they might have an angle. Then again they may be buying Sirius for the losses they can book. Who knows, you'd have to ask AAL but the one thing is clear, them coming in now will cost them an awful lot less to take the project through to completion than it has cost Sirius so far.
From the scheme documents
As part of that process, Anglo American will review the residual
capital for the Project under its ownership. Sirius currently expects incremental capital of approximately
US$3.3 billion in order to reach a production level of 10 mtpa and including a relatively high level (P90)
of contingency. During these first two years and subject to the update, development work of approximately
US$300 million per annum is expected. In line with its capital allocation framework Anglo American will
also keep potential syndication of the Project under review.
Are AA actually committing more than existing outstanding contracts. Clearly no rush to market poly4
And one that can’t string two words together. Lol

Given that by this time tomorrow all those of us who are going to vote will have voted what would the process be now if on Friday for example AAL sweetened the deal? Would this vote be abandoned and the process started again?
I agree OR - we want a local investor who as Scott says knows about Sirius and understands the business side - what’s gone on - and you do and your local
Liam . Peoples investment sorrows , are all over these boards . Dont take this the wrong way , but it looks like lazy journalism to me , the really story ere is what as happened since april 19 . Open offer , jpm rcf , which were attached to bonds 500 mill which were put to the market first week in August , well none for being a hoilday period world wide in the bond markets , no other attempt since to raise bonds, highbridge shorting sirius . Who are an associated company of jpm , allso how long have aal been in the room with fraser whilst all this as been going on ,why the consurtium offer december and january never put to share holders , go put some ground work in, you may unravell some unscruplus going on s ere, come on interviewing a few pensioners on how much they have lost , its not really journalism, sorry if i sound harsh
If you're with HL you have less than 16 hours left to vote !
Hi All. Getting really peed off now. With all the $trillions not( billions) of cash floating around, looking for a return , i find it incredible the finance can not be found. It is criminal To let AAL/JPM have this for $3,5billin (chicken feed) and then producing returns of £billions a year for 100 years. This is all so wrong and just goes to show the banksters never lose. What a mess our country has become if or gov allow this to take place, come on Boris grow some and take action. ATB Speedy
That's a shame OR as I think there is not much you don't know about this project or the goings on over a good few years !!

Hope so :-))
DunnaRunna, I have just spoken to Liam from The Sunday Times but I’m not local. He really needs local investors to contact him. Are you local because you would be great?
"Odey to vote against Anglo American rescue bid for Sirius Minerals"
Odey only hold 1.4% as stock , but i can't believe he isn't talking to other holders and that the Mayfair mafia aren't colluding. It therefore is looking more and more like a NO vote next week, perhaps both on votes and headcount. AAL have various options- raise the bid (having agreed with Odey , polygon, Jupiter et al what price will clinch a deal), call it off,or wait for insolvency. Clearly Odey and cronies don't think the latter two are likely, thus I would expect a sweetened offer before the vote on the third.
Fred,
The really sad thing here is that the realisation of this enormous economic resource lying beneath the feet of all Brits has been made possible largely through the funding by us Brits, many local and many from all around the country. If the ownership continues to reside with the current shareholders then the revenues from this operation will contribute around £4bn pa to the British economy. Taxes will be fully paid in this country and a large proportion of dividends will be distributed in this country for 100 years. Those dividends will largely be spent locally and drive the local economy. The people who have committed their pensions and savings to the project, and the country as a whole, will benefit for years to come. If AAL pick this up for the pittance that they are offering, the resource will become a cash cow for yet another large multinational that will use the revenues to fund development of other resources elsewhere in the world and will offset those costs to avoid paying taxes in this country. I know they are a British company but anyone who thinks they will behave any differently to the Amazons of this world etc when it comes to paying taxes are living in a dream world. The dividends that are paid will not be paid locally and will not feed the economy.
Just informed by my facebook queen daughter that it’s £20 per account to vote at the meeting? She says it’s on the Sirius minerals facebook group. Anyone cast any light on it?

if true, may i therefore suggest ......just go to your brokerage/ link asset services and ask for your IVC number - they will send it to you, set up the account online and then vote online.
You can still go to the meeting if you want to see the snake in flesh
The Sirius scheme document assumes we all have certificates, which is absurd, because most of us hold through a broker.
It would be logical if brokers aggregated all the "no" votes notified to them, and registered a "block vote" of the total. Likewise for any "yes" votes.
But I'm not sure if that is happening. If PIs are indeed being disenfranchised in this way, I can see the result being challenged through the courts...

Whether they are off takes or TorPs is irrelevant in the context of why i originally referred to them.
Hi Liam, I emailed you last weekend with my thoughts. Hopefully from my email you got the gist of how shareholders are feeling. We really do need to show that this is about investors (who weren’t stupid by the way) who researched, thought very carefully, read company presentations, u tube - anything Sirius wise. We were all so interested and passionate about the project and it was long term for many of us. Something to pass down to our families or our pensions. You can see by the reaction from so many investors how devastated they are. I’m glad I don’t live near the mine, I feel so sorry for those local investors who will have to see day by day how it progresses and be reminded of how they have no further interest in it now when some of them have been involved since before planning. It’s simply not right and I do hope that you spend time finding out that out. This should be put out there in the Sunday Times to show that many people simply won’t get over this and ordinary people from all walks of life should not be treated in the way that Sirius shareholders have. Everyone deserves proper communication and answers to their question plus complete transparency from all parties in their investment - especially when they own 50% of it.
Hope you didn’t loose to much.
Hope you don’t regret sticking around.
Good luck to you.
