can someone please inform me my options when coming to sell stella shares please??
Yes, I do , for both trading and my Sipp... I find it quite easy to manoeuvre around the site and pretty sharp dealing. Id say the research ability is probably not as strong as somebody like IG, who I did use but I quite like it. Regarding Stelar, I have posed the question of selling NWF with them and its no problem however should you wish to by more of NWF through them your minimum purchase is 10k.... Also if you sign up before the end of April you can get a free case of wines but transfer value has to be minimum 10k
Dear All, Anyone here use A J Bell? Are you happy? Thanks, -- BB --
Colddubai - both IG and II trade on the ASX
I am with Halifax and I have open s free acc with I.g Get a transfer form print and return and they both take care if I for you
I am with Halifax share trading and they say if I dont find a broker to transfer to then I will just get the value when they are transferred. Which broker in the UK is best to transfer my shares to?
my broker has said my new shares will be put in my ISA and tradeable on the ASX Time to buy somemore :-D
I believe it’s the 26th April
Well looks like ive missed the boat! Share centres dead line for a certificate was 2pm this afternoon! Opened and IG account but doubt i can transfer over in time? Other issue is i dont hold enough shares to make this worth while!!
When's the last day I have to sell stellar share any help plz and thank you in advance
Indeed - there’s no point selling yourself short once NWF is out of suspension! I’m intending to hold at least half long to see where this goes. GLA
I'm with Barclays too and a few weeks back had a similar phone call with them. They said to me they would be giving options after the sale had gone through. Impossible to move fast so probably will wait a good while. Wish I'd transferred to IG a while back as it seems too late now. I'm thinking I may wait a few months and see what happens before selling on asx. There will be mass sales of these by all us brits on lifting of the suspension so can only see the SP going South initially.
Thanks mukflash. gazshot, IG transfer takes 3-6 weeks ..
Bunco - actually, ignore that - I keep forgetting to include the 0.7622 conversion factor in my calcs! :-)
Bunco - I think you’ve got that the wrong way round - as GBP is currently stronger, the equivalent STEL price would be higher surely?
ASX, I'm with Barcs and called them a couple of weeks ago regarding stel shares. They wont trade after the switch but told me to wait until I get a corporate actions notice on my account as they say they have no information yet, It's cutting it fine if they don't have any info yet ! I am gonna open an IG account next week and transfer my stel shares to them, or maybe my whole portfolio, getting a bit peeved with barcs lately !
I notice the exchange rate has drift away from us by about 5%. A$1.77 quoted in the original calculations which suggested a STEL share could be worth around 9.77p, exchange rate now sitting around A$1.85. Which keeping all the other figures the same would mean a STEL share would be worth 9.19p... That's assuming the theoretical ex-rights price is achieved A$0.223. Still money in this, but i can understand why we are at current price.
AJBELL YouInvest also deal in ASX listed over the phone. People are going to get screwed over if so many forced sales are pushed through. Do yourselves a favour and ride the tide for a week or two, watch your returns rise in what is otherwise a stagnant market right now
...I received the same letter today saying that STEL holders will receive 0.7622 of Newfield shares on 26th April 2018, however they cannot hold these shares so will sell them automatically on Market Open of Newfield. I explained Newfield is currently suspended and was given 2 options..... 1: Request a Share Certificate for STEL at today's price, and the shares will be in my name, which I would be able to transfer to an account that trades on ASX..... or 2: X-O will automatically hold on to the shares after 26th April 2018, and sell them for me automatically when Newfield comes out of suspension.
Thank you Hardy that is very useful explanation. I will call them again. They say in the letter that my shares will be sold on ASX so should be 4 May I think, not 26.4?
SimmL - I’m slightly confused by what XO are saying to you - according to the timetable, STEL shareholders won’t be issued their NWF shares until the 3rd May, which will then be tradable on the ASX on the 4th May. However, if XO are saying they will be selling your shares on the 26th, I’m assuming they mean your STEL shares as that is the last day or them being tradeable??? Could be worth you contacting them for clarity. With regards to the NWF SP, it’s currently suspended pending the completion of the deal, though due to the share dilution, the SP might drop once trading resumes. Current AUS/GBP exchange rate is 0.54, so if working on anticipated NWF SP of 0.20cents upon suspensition being lifted, would equate to the equivalent of STEL being 10.8p
Thank you Hardy. but there is sth I dont understand: NWF are suspended, and the sp is 0.24.. does it mean that they use this as a price to sell my shares? Just trying to work out which is better, sell now or wait..thanks
The price you get for the NWF shares is wholly dependant on market rate on the day of the sale of course!
Using round figures for the sake of simplicity, if you currently own 100,000 STEL shares, you will get 76,220 NWF shares upon completion of the deal.
I am with XO and they just sent me a letter to say they will sell my shares on 26.4 as dont trade on ASX. They wont issue any certificates They couldn't give me the price they will sell if for.. (I thought it was already agreed) the letter states: the STEL holders will receive 0.7622 Newfield shares in lieu of existing share of STEL What does it mean ??
