Quady - Sounds like many young UK folks these days, including graduates, who are precariat class. Been to Blackpool or Skegness recently. Looks somewhat like Mariupol.
He wasn't ending a long and distinguished career, he was in his early thirties.
It was an awful situation, living from hotel to hotel, on tournament winnings and at the same time supporting his mother.
That was fishmonger novice.
Go to bed you old fishy witch.
You're late to the chat, DBW. Just got back from the Common, and already bringing up your hobby.
Is that code for dogging ?
“I was an international chess player”
Translation “i once went to a chess congress at Barry island butlins”
" he is a world class grandmaster, but would be made to teach the young "
teaching your skill to the young is, of course, a cruel and unusual punishment, rather than the most rewarding and generous way to end a long and distinguished career ! he sounds like he would fit right in with these elitist ****s.
* Browder.
Yes Quady, there is a coterie of Russian globalists who, along with the oligarchs, think of themselves as globetrotters.
They represent 1% of the Russian nation. They were big benefactors of the western looting ( Bill Brower, Safra, et al ), Hermitage Capital, back in the early 90s. They still hate Putin for stopping all that.
I work with some families in Italy, as there is still a diaspora of both Rus and Ukies here. I like them both equally, and their common community is closer now than before the war, as they are victims of circumstance. Some have been stripped of their assets by the EU. Others have voluntarily renounced their Russian assets before they were seized. They are resilient and making the best of it.
Well when there is no news about Solgold you can rely on certain posters to keep the post count up with nonsense 🤷♀️
Have a good evening...
Kat you are wrong headed about Russia, the majority want rid of Putin.
It's you that has been taken in.
I was an international chess player and know some of the top Russian masters.
One in particular can never return as he would have no freedom.
He is a world class Grandmaster, but would be made to teach the young and give up his love of playing.
Russian scientist's and doctor's where leaving before the war, the brain drain is and will cripple Russia for generations.
Quady. You are right, I have never been to Russia, and have no particular attachment to it, have no family from Russia, no idealogical attachments, was never in the Socialist Workers' Party at Uni, or any other thing, apart from now I have been outside the UK and it's pernicious propaganda for a good few years, I can take a truly independent view of the world, look at both sides..... and realise how ridiculous the West has become.
I feel truly sorry for all you fish who get told about something called water.
Kat I have just realised something.
You have never been to Russia.
Before the war, it was a poor country.
Yes they are selling their oil and gas, but once the masses move away from oil and gas, it cannot survive in a world that wont trade with them.
The Russian politicians understand this.
Kat, can you provide a source for the 32% to 13% claim? And do you have equivalent figures over the same time period for the USD? Genuinely interested in this.
Oh dear Quady. It does not matter what you think. It does not matter what I think.
I am reporting what they are thinking and saying. And already doing.
You still believe that Russia is just one more push, and set of sanctions, away from collapse ?
They are getting stronger, as they have circumvented SWIFT and set up their own interbank system.
BRICS is expanding and they increasingly have all the sources of commodities and manufactured goods they need and want.
The share of world trade in Euro has gone down from 32% to 13 % Yes, 32% to 13 % in 3 years .
Shocking, and you won't hear anything about it on mainstream media.
Add,
Why would it upset me? Just pointing out that not everything is black or white, as I said we shall move on
Atb
Mather, I'm not denying that and I just happen to be part of the overwhelming majority of people in the West. Sorry if that upsets you.
That's exactly why these topics are brought up.
You are an intelligent contributor so either ignore or people will jump to conclusions.
Let them rabble amongst their green lines....peace out.
Add,
That’s not an an answer, thats a fudge, anyway, we won’t get a true answer as you are biased, such is life
Atb
Kat you talk rubbish, donating Russian seized assets to the Ukraine, won't affect finance at all.
In fact it may well make China think twice about attacking Taiwan.
Smick, yes, the eco debate. I'm sorry but I feel strongly about the current situation, although I accept this is probably not the appropriate forum. I think it's a little unfair of you to suggest I jump in on the off topic threads that come up here, because I very rarely do. Anyway, please accept my apologies.
Add is there any discussion you won't partake in to disrupt the solg bb?
Up there with Quady fella
Mather, you're right, I don't have a balanced view and that's because I know who our enemies are. Bear in mind, prior to 1939 there were plenty of people who had a 'balanced' view of Hitler.
Thanks Mathers for that enlightening video. These kind of things used to regularly appear on serious investigative programmes on UK television, such as Panorama or Newsnight.
Anyone else noticed how serious, challenging and pluralistic journalism has disappeared from the telly since the 2010s ?
