You only have to do the basic maths to realise it’s totally impossible
We need gas to power the grid for all the new EVs too!!
21 million people aren’t going to change their gas boilers even if they could afford to. We just need the bullocks to last long enough to sell cascabel!
1) A workable PFS has been delivered after years of failed attempts to do so. (I realise some people will argue that we already had one, but the proof of the pudding was the fact we needed to do another one)
2) Full governmental support and priority granted.
3) Funding available if needed for both the short and long term.
4) A CEO on the ground who has clearly developed a good working relationship with the people who matter.
This looks like a totally different picture to me and many of the uncertainties have been removed.
Cheers Add,
I wrote to Bob when the SP hit the all time 52 weeks low. I am reassured by his response and I know that he is aligned with us and that I just need to be patient going forward.
1984, you really give me a good laugh these days reading your posts. I like your humour 😀
And the fact that you don't hesitate to call a spade a spade...nothing racial by the term spade here to folks who might take offence.
The government talk of gas to generate electricity does confirm what you have been posting about net zero for sure 👍
Fort, like you, I'd be bloody furious, as will our main shareholders, which is why I don't think it's likely. The board needs their support.
Eloro, as it happens I didn't have you in mind, although now you mention it...
I have noted your softening stance recently but didn't know it was based upon a conversation with Sangha, which sounds as if it was interesting.
The fact is we all want the same thing and we want it asap. This has been a very long journey and has perhaps taught a few us many lessons about investing in a junior explorer operating in a politically sensitive area.
If you cant understand momentum then you’ll never attribute blame or praise where it ought to lie.
When a government changes party, people who don’t understand momentum instantly blame the next one for borrowing etc
The same with a company on a downward trend. The new CEO doesn’t get the keys to the company and it lurches straight back upwards.
Fixing the problems left by cuzzubo’s ruinous stint is a lengthy process and we may finally be turning a corner from the path he left us on (oblivion)
Fort, I know that Add has me in mind re Scott's failure as a ceo. Like you, when I see the SP back in the 20s, I will change my views. I cannot, will not heap praise on the man who twiddled while the SP plunged. His only focus was The Rocks, while ignoring the decimation of shareholders value.
I will say though, the longer they take to confirm funding, the more I am convinced that something is going on in the background. I want to be put out of my misery here. So I am hoping that Bob has things under control. Bob did reply to an email which I sent to him after the recent SP plunge, and I was encouraged by his response. No, I won't publish his response because I haven't cleared it with him. I can say though, that his response is why I have been less vocal these days. I am now in the wait and see mode.
"Your conspiracy theories about the management helping themselves to to the CGP shares are completely without foundation."
Addicknt... there are no conspiracy theories. And my foundation for such thinking is proven by the last placing which saw Maxit and a few others help themsselves to the cheapest placing in SOLG shares for yonks. That's the foundation dear boy.
My projection or vision is that should those 157m CGP shares get placed at a price less than 16p, then that would be terrible. But it would be far worse if Maxit or other CGP boys too them. It would be a bit like them helping themselves to the shares that they once held themselves but gave away in exchange for SOLG shares at a set price value only then to get them back cheaper.
So lets hope it doesn't happen. I'm hoping it doesn't. But if it does... the market won't be very impressed... nor will I.
Although not sure on you... I think you'll probably be happy.
Hi addicknt, no strong disagreement from me on those points. (Noting in the past SOLG did have more senior leadership based in Ecuador. And DC visited as required.)
But that is different to the "scuppering the ship" comments others are making. Which borders on libellous, hence I wondered if people have evidence?
The quarterly MD&As and reports were clear on strategy, progress (i.e. actual drilling) and expenditures / cash balances.
Clearly DC's time wasn't perfect. I just see his departure reflecting a change in strategy, particularly once CGP were on board.
Oh bugger...
8p! 8p! 8p!
;)
NMM, he has said he was given the order of the boot because of the change in strategy - he disagreed with the move to prepare the business for sale - and I reckon he received £2m in compensation as a result.
Would he have been able to achieve what SC has? Unless he relocated to Ecuador, I think not. Our business requires a huge amount of interaction with government and the idea this could be done from Brisbane was, to my mind, plainly stupid.
Anyone able to provide some evidence/details of "what DC was up to"?
To me, he got the boot for a failed fund raise and change in strategy once CGP finally agreed to get on board.
But sounds like others know much more about what happened?
Your conspiracy theories about the management helping themselves to to the CGP shares are completely without foundation.
The appointment of Mr Lui is certainly a very big move by SOLG as it's like letting the fox into the chicken house.
Logic suggests that it is a precursor or agreement which is based on some kind of deal or finance.
I'm not worried about finance as I know Noboa would not have signed that CIPA unless he had solid evidence of the plan going forwards. We'll hear soon but guess they have to make Mr Lui's position look less pre planned by giving him at least 2 to 3 weeks under his new role.
It's clear that they are getting all key news events out there (as per market regs) before they release news on funding or asset sale etc.
They need to make sure all 'insider' stuff is out there... before the insiders can help themselves to a slice in whatever form that ends up.
Lets hope Bob doesn't give away 157m CGP shares to himself and his mates on the cheap otherwise it really would be tin hats time for him and his crew. Not sure he cares much though.
I did warn at the time Darryl was a bhp stooge but was shot down by the usuals getting excited about the next Ronaldo signing as per (none more ridiculous than that useless finance woman who lasted about six weeks!)
Sadly I didn’t heed my own advice and get out
And no sane person would invest in a management team they had no faith in ….. had I known what DC was up to I’d certainly have sold a chunk if not all at the time
When I say threat, I mean to anyone who may have designs on casacbel. The threat of our new director pushing this into China's hands looks more than a bluff this time
Bounce, but will we smash through the 9p??
Gl all
DBW, my exposure has increased not decreased. I'm happy to add at these levels and have been doing so.
But I'm not ready to do any back slapping just yet but I believe in the asset's worth and I think we are all aligned on that one. So lets focus on that. The management team are what we have right now and that's that.
Smickster
Funding is needed, we all know that
But why should it be a threat when the right funding could equally remove many doubts and set us on a much firmer footing whilst also removing a chunk of vulnerability to boot
Dbw you can add that market sentiment seems to be changing and and some money coming back to miners.
A couple more months of this with a rate drop and we should hopefully be back with a decent mcap/sp.
Surely last chance for someone other than the Chinese to make a play for us?
The threat of funding looks real.
Your tune clearly changes with your exposure and always has done
“Remember, one of the main reasons why the sp is sub 10p is that the market does not believe your views”
I’d disagree, I’d say the reason we are sub 10p is largely because no one realised the state we were in whilst DC was scuppering the ship . Had we known the price would have been in the gutter long ago.
Scott I has largely stopped the bleeding as has put us back on track . These things take time and he is proving his worth now.
It’s called seeing the bigger picture
No one knows what the funding package will look like but I’m fairly confident with every update our options are widening
When he set his options at 17p... I think he knew what was coming.
I thought they were cheap at the time and they were indeed cheap and still are cheap.
Hence any further bonus awards (not that there should be any) should be awarded at sub 17p.
I'm sure all agree on that one.
In Oct Caldwell bought almost 800k shares. That's a fair wedge of an investment. I'm sure SC knows what's coming down the line
