Hello Doc and all long term holders. Great allegorical post Doc and I have always enjoyed your level headed and understated posts on this board.
For me too this was one of the first shares I purchased back in early 2020 and over the next year or two built up a large holding being a majority of my liquid capital and some knowledge and was convinced that interferon B was going to be world changing.
It has been a very expensive and finally disappointing lesson. I did sell most of my shares just before de-listing for the price of a few pints but totally forgot about those in my SIPP so I am still a holder but have no hope at all of any recompense. Having said that I did have capital losses to set against profits from the sale of my mothers flat last year so that saved me a couple of thousand. It wasn't only SNG that I invested in during lockdown period. Nearly all turned out to be major failures including NCYT which was my second largest holding. Looking back now I think I was rather swept up in the whole Covid thing although fortunately had no close relatives who died or had to be ventilated.
My lack of investing nous has been well and truly exposed mostly due to either buying at the wrong time or not selling when I should have and holding far too long. From an investing point of view it has been all so depressing over the last few years made even more depressing by our appalling governments the general madness and violence in the world together with the fact that every company and person seems out to scam us.
I'll raise a glass to you Doc and the other believers. Good luck for the future to all.
Spinnaker
The train coasts gently and silently to a halt. Miles from the station - driverless for the last long miles and empty of passengers. A journey begun in hope in the dark days of the covid winter, ending here on this end of winter day. Spring is in the air. A fifth spring since this all began, and with it the promise of summer and long quiet days by the river.
Anger is gone - bitterness and regret gone. We played with something most of us didn't understand. Invested some of us for the first time in a drug that offered hope in those very grim days. Don't forget that.
Covid already feels like a fever dream, it's truth denied with every passing day in this horrible world of fakery and deception, as the hard learned lessons are unlearned. But it was once a very real nightmare. Millions died. Millions more are still still crippled by it, including my wife's best frend who was ventilated for 5 months after bringing it home from Milan in the very first wave, and somehow survived.
SNG001 offered hope that first summer but failed the test of efficacy as so many other drugs did. Perhaps we should have known that the company's long history told the true story of the potency it offered - but we were ignorant and hopeful and blinded by that first trial.
I hope we all made it through to this winter's end, to hear the whistle sound in the silence, and raise a glass of wine for the last time.

See John Ward sold 270,000 at £140 what a result
Thank you jint for reminding us all of this.
Hopefully Synairgen will be able to wring a small return from its other assets.
These being:
COPD/Corticosteroids European patent application which is currently undergoing minor corrections prior to grant.
Applications of the same in other territories is still in the examination phase.
Covid/Corticosteroids patent application in all territories is still undergoing examination in all areas.
The ILI granted patent unfortunately only has approximately 4years left to run, unless Regulatory Authorisation is gained prior to the end date whereupon extensions can be applied for, this patent will expire.
It would require BP backing to have any chance of meeting this timeframe, even then it would be a close call.
The Bio-Bank is another asset.
Lastly, the 17% stake in LOXL2 (Pharmaxis) still undergoing development ATM.
Could the tax losses potentially be utilised during any sale of assets as well?
It depends how much money has been frittered away. Don't forget the company had c. £32m when P3 failed in 2022 and they burned through £26m without making any evident clinical progress. They held c. £6m at the time of the 2024 Christmas placing which raised £18m.
IFF, big IF, it's reasonable to suppose half is returned to shareholders that would equate to c. 1p per share!!!

Holding an auction via the Asset Match platform.
Meanwhile, the Company will explore whether there is any opportunity to divest certain intellectual property assets related to SNG001 although there is no guarantee that this will be successful.
The Company will share further details with shareholders regarding the wind-down process in due course, including any shareholder approvals which may be required to approve it.
Joseph Colliver, Chief Executive Officer of Synairgen said: “We are very thankful for all our shareholders who have supported us in the development of SNG001, and for all our clinical and other collaborators and partners, as well as our internal team and colleagues for their dedication and professionalism. This was a very difficult decision, made after thorough consideration of all realistic options available to us and one which the Directors consider is in the best interests of all shareholders as a whole."
Synairgen Corporate Update
LETTER FROM THE CHAIRMAN AND CEO OF SYNAIRGEN LIMITED
26 February 2026
Corporate Update
Dear Shareholders,
Synairgen (the “Company”), a clinical-stage biotechnology company with sole asset SNG001 (inhaled interferon beta), today announces its decision to terminate the ongoing global phase 2 clinical study (referred to as the INVENT study).
The study was designed to evaluate the efficacy and safety of SNG001 in mechanically-ventilated patients infected with a range of respiratory viruses. The first participant was entered into the study in December 2025. However, recruitment has been markedly behind expectations, and despite very active engagement and dialogue with the clinical sites it has been judged that the number of patients projected for a robust study readout is not feasible in a realistic timeframe. There are a number of reasons for this significantly low patient recruitment, not least the very low intensity of the winter viral season; which although prevalent in the community, did not result in a significant number of patients being admitted to intensive care and requiring invasive mechanical ventilation.
A comprehensive review of alternative phase 2 study design options has been carefully conducted by the Synairgen management team, with material input from external clinical, regulatory and drug development experts. However, after careful deliberation, none of these options were considered feasible as they lacked the necessary combined attributes of
delivering a material value-inflection generating readout in a realistic timeframe, and all demanded significant additional funding. Tetragon Partners, on behalf of certain funds and managed accounts to which it acts as investment manager (and who own the majority of the
Company’s shares), has confirmed that it would not provide further financing to the Company and has recommended that the Company instead focus on returning the maximum available funds to its shareholders.
The Company’s Board of Directors have carefully reviewed various strategic alternatives and have considered the current financing environment, clinical development data outputs and timelines, and the capital requirements of the Company. The Company has determined that it
is not in a position to secure the additional significant funding required or a strategic partnership necessary to continue its operations. Accordingly, given that SNG001 is the sole asset of the
business, the Board recommends that it is in the best interests of all shareholders that it now advances plans to wind down its operations and returns available cash to shareholders.
The Company therefore plans to begin an orderly wind-down of operations, including meeting its obligations to shareholders, employees, creditors, vendors, and stakeholders in accordance with
applicable laws and contractual commitments. Further to the Business Update published on 4 September 2025 and given the current status of the Compa

Fair comment Sparky, I'll probably do the same. Let's hope 2026 proves to be a good year for Synairgen.
Thanks Silures
I will hold fire and see what happens in there trial they are doing at the moment, you never know they might pass with flying colours.
But until that happens i just cant be bothered at what ever price they are at the moment.
Sparky & Splodge,
I contacted HL a few months back, they told me the following: they hold Synairgen share certificates for their account holders, but "they would need to remain on your account pending a potential re-listing on an exchange we can trade on."
This is unlikely so they also advised finding a new broker that would accept the transfer of the shares, and would be prepared to provide them in certificated format. They couldn't advise another broker to contact.
If anyone else can provide other advice on their synairgen HL shares I'd be grateful to hear?
I will call H. L tomorrow if I get a chance as I have shares with them.
The way I see it they can stay there.
If for some reason they bought the drug to market it will be worth something.
As it stands now we r not worth nothing
Did anyone get anywhere with this? My shares were on HL but they told me share certificates didn't exist. Ended up talking to a company called MUFG but can't remember what role they play now. Thanks
Merry Christmas. Love you loads.

Nope - but it hardly matters. TFG will have a plan - but as the trial wont start till late '25 - but more likely early '26, Syn no longer need to communicate anything until it does. They'll obviously want to delist b4 the AGM.
Is a date set for the delisting? Many tia.

Dear Shareholders,Business UpdateThe Company is pleased to be writing to you today to update you on the Company's progress inconnection with the Phase 2 (INVENT) clinical study and to give you information on some otherdevelopments.Phase 2 INVENT Clinical StudyThe Company has spent much of 2025 preparing for the start of the INVENT study: a large phase2 study to investigate SNG001 (inhaled interferon-beta) in mechanically-ventilated patients infectedwith a range of respiratory viruses. If the study is positive, it is structured (with mortality as theprimary endpoint) and powered to provide, in our view, a very compelling basis to proceed tophase 3. The essential preparatory work has included a comprehensive and cross-functionalprogramme of activities, with important and positive progress in at least the six main areas whichare outlined below. In summary, the programme plan maintains delivery of the interim analysis of the study in mid2026 and the final analysis in mid-2027. As with all clinical studies, not least in such a specialisedintensive care unit setting, there are a number of risks which we are seeking to mitigate. That said,we are very encouraged by the progress made in the period, as follows.· Establishing a network of more than 60 clinical study sitesWorking in partnership with our selected global clinical research organisation, we haveconducted detailed feasibility of in excess of 200 clinical sites and have identified suitableclinical investigators and hospital centres in the US, UK and four European countries, whohave the necessary skills and experience to execute the study. The group of carefullychosen clinical sites represents the fundamental expert network which is clearly essentialto execute such a specialised study in the intensive care setting.· Securing regulatory agency and ethics committee approvalsSignificant progress has been made towards securing the approvals which are mandatedprior to initiation of patient recruitment. The novel and specialised aerosol technologybeing employed to deliver SNG001 eficiently to the lungs of patients whilst on invasivemechanical ventilation has necessitated separate regulatory agency applications in the UKand in the four separate European countries, as a result of specific European medicaldevice regulations. These device-focused applications have been submitted in parallelwith drug product-focused applications to the regulators. In parallel, in the US, we haveundertaken a formal advice interaction with the Food and Drug Administration (US FDA)and incorporated the agency's feedback in the clinical study protocol. Additionally, wehave followed the FDA's request for further characterisation of SNG001 delivery tomechanically-ventilated patients. The majority of this laboratory work was executed inhouse by the Company's science team and demanded development of selected newanalytical methods prior to an intense period accelerating the studies and reporting theresults to the agency. I put thousands into this share. I let my heart rule, and now as all of us paying for it.
Having lost my mother and brother to COPD, working as a contractor in Southampton General and seeing how hard the staff work made me think that supporting the company would help those suffering with respiritory illnesses. I was wrong.
I do hope that those who benefited financially from our investments never get taken ill from COPD. It is a horrible death.
Amers, I agree, I was simply answering the question that seasider asked. It will be a long time before we have anything worth selling and probably never.
Lost fortunes but like most no point in selling.
there is only one way we r going to get anything back, is if this missed managed company gets to market.
Great too see this site is up and running so if there is any old faces here be nice to hear from them
Thanks Hill.....but I won't b taking part, until I get all my money with profit!!!
Morning Seasider, I've just been looking into this. I have lost about £7.5k on Synairgen. I believe the shares are still valid and they are due to come up for auction every six months via the platform www.assetmatch.com as per the following on the website:
"Synairgen Ltd has appointed Asset Match to provide a secondary trading facility in the Company's Ordinary Shares.
The first auction is currently set to run in September 2025. The planned opening date will be the 2nd September with the auction set to close on Tuesday 30th September at 3pm.
Please be mindful that the above stated dates may still be subject to change.
An order form will be made available on this page once the auction is live and an Orderbook will be visible once any orders have been received.
If you would like to receive further information and subsequent auction details then please email synairgen@assetmatch.com or add Synairgen to your watchlist.
Please direct any queries to synairgen@assetmatch.com or Tel. 020 7248 2788
Any news on the trials which were due to start in September? Will we even find out?
What a price to start from.0.95 pench.
I hope they get some good enough bid to get up much higher
Apologies for the naivety, I have a small holding here and am not a share expert generally and would appreciate a response in layman’s terms :-)
When they were delisted they were moved automatically by my broker from ISA to standard shares account. Can I actually trade these from September? Does the business have a future at all from a small shareholder perspective? Do I have any options? Cheers in advance!
Wow - not even a penny a share!
Regarding the share starting price, I received the following information from Asset Match:
The Synairgen have appointed Asset Match to provide a secondary trading facility in the Company’s Ordinary Shares. The dates of the first auction have been set for 2nd September to 30th September 2025. Shares were admitted to trading at 0.95 pence per share (the last price on AIM).

I would be interested to know a bit more about this as a Shareholder who has lost a lot of my hard earned betting on this company. I had Severe Asthma for 45+ years and have taken high dose Corticosteroids for most of that time. A year ago I started taking a monthly biologic injection (monoclonal antibody), within 3 months I was able to stop taking Corticosteroids and my Asthma symptoms have pretty much disappeared although I have a range of new symptoms (non breathing) which are problematical. The list price of each shot in £1200 but I believe there is a significant NHS Discount but the cost must still be significant. I believe there are significant number of asthmatics that are receiving this treatment or waiting for their 12m trial to start so the costs must be significant too.
The company, product and associated patents are all useless. Don't get dragged in again.
Thanks Jint I glad you still use this board

🤣🤣🤣🤣
Probably best we agree to disagree on what lays behind motives of SNG and their IP advisors. ATM my prime focus is SNG getting the Phase2 MV trial underway. If the outcome is positive hopefully they will garner interest from BP for the Phase3 segment to facilitate getting sng001 over the line to enable authorisation to be sought.
So these patents are more about proving that they are not infringing someone else's IP, rather than preventing 3rd parties from doing something sufficiently similar to be the same in practice.
It isn't about whether it is published or not. It is about the scope. SNG need to have a patent in order to sell anything, this is what they will be selling (and perhaps their current stock, but that's not where any value comes from). These are the FTO patents. If carefully crafted they do get published but have zero value in protecting from copycats, even if specific claims that seem protective are actually published. Literally anyone can make something indisnguishly similar and sell it in the same market and SNG will do nothing about it, because if they do try to enforce they will end up losing their own patent. Ifnb, including nebulised for respiratory diseases/conditions has been around for decades. In fact has been failing to make a breakthrough for ages. If somehow someone finds a way to make it useful, others will join in no time and SNG will not be able to do anything about that, except try to sell their own version of it.
Ditto, had experience dealing with HGF (engineering side),
a reputable company providing in-depth searches who unhesitatingly provides realistic assessment of clients IP innovation potential. Time will tell whether the patent examiners agree.
ak12345, at the last GM during the after-chat I asked M. Murphy when he thought the trial would start, he appeared assured when he replied by September.

Hi Jaff
My biggest investment failure to date and there have been some shockers. Still can’t believe I bought another £5,000 at £2.60 ouch! Lesson learnt - well
Maybe!
Hi all, after several absent years... I`m back.. but only momentarily since I will soon cease to post on the SNG board.. as probably most of us may also do so soon.
It was great fun reading all your comments and exchanging ideas, knowledge, expertise with so many of you during the COVID years. It certainly kept
me busy and entertained during those grey "Lock down" days. I remember we were even arranging a mass party somewhere on the south coast to meet up for a beer if SNG were successfull .... I really was looking forward to that... but of course it never happened and we are where we are and SNG will soon be ether. I too held on till the end (still holding) and the losses were too great to mention. No one made me do it...it was my descision and no ones fault.
Did I learn any lessons ? and do I have any advice for others ?....... no, not really, since I feel I may inadvertantly miss lead others.
I used to really look forward to reading your comments and sometimes responding and occassionally trying to add a bit of humour and fun.
I see some of you are still here on this board....well done for keeping the lights on.
Wishing you all the best,
Time only flows in one direction.

Very sad times aided by a few on this forum.
The Circular said the shares would remain freely transferable after delisting which was contradicted by the subsequent introduction of the Right of First Refusal and removal from CREST. It seems, the Asset Match facility is an attempt at making the shares appear freely transferable but is severely limited by the few auctions each year, brokers willingness/ability to allow investors to trade on Asset Match together with their fees.
Personally I cannot foresee any liquidity on Asset Match. Distressed shareholders have already sold out and most remaining shareholders decided the value of their shares was not worth crystallising and they may as well hold on in the hope SNG directors will honour their fiduciary duties to all shareholders and protect minorities interests.
I cannot foresee any demand for shares on Asset Match to support the price prior to the IA, unless TFG are going to be mopping up shares.
My thoughts are therefore that the Asset Match facility is just a cosmetic device to give the appearance of freely tradeable shares and is without any substance for the benefit of minority shareholders.
Do you think the auction price will go up in price?
