FWIW s2030, I am convinced as far as the new Golf is concerned, which is a cracking bit of news. So is Colin. I do find it hard to believe we are suddenly in everything VW produce and fear a disappointment coming to those who do.
I also think that the Golf is good enough on it's own for us to fulfill projections of profit.
Ok, it's scalable to occupant monitoring so maybe not.
Shouldn't be as hard as this, what difference does it make saying it's us or not?
Wasn't it supposed to be occupant monitoring?
I'm not convinced
one would guess it will depend on when the model went for ****logation and type approval and whether vw are going straight to dms via camera for all trim levels from get go and therefor meet 2026 rules early and again this depends on model refresh timing etc. we then need to p**** is all camera via magna mirror or other solution or are some models as part of mid run refresh maybe getting steering wheel monitor until model replacement in 2026. anything launching in 2026 likely hitting type approval in 2024/2025. the lag from prototype or directional design indications at a car show to showroom sale can be a good while and i would say type approved may happen a while before shakedown of manufacturing in small batch up to full production. where design wins and tier 1/2 contracts sit within that i guess is variable..hence the difficulty in timing announcements for see. the valeo adas/dms solution that has been liked by a few see employees maybe a platform compatible with cipia/see/smarteye in theory but the optical.path may have had input from see engineers and the reality it will run see software but we might not see that disclosed for a while. the mirror with magna can only be us and one would imagine after the 3 year exclusive ends it will renew especially if software and hardware need to work hand in glove. if the magna mirror gets top score in the section needed for euro ncap then maybe more contracts for europe will then decide award. placing a mirror maybe be quicker to integrate than a trim or secondary camera placement so decisons go to wire.
They say 'Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor'. I wouldn't imagine that's a coffee cup, but interpret it how you like.
I guess they don't want to call it 'Advanced Driver Monitoring System', as the privacy brigade would be kicking off.
Still a bit confused....
Rang a couple of UK VW Dealers sales departments and they all said "Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor" had nothing to do with Camera monitoring - more about alerting a driver to pull over during long drives etc. I'm sure you have already done the same.
So where exactly do you see DMS definitively mentioned ?
I really hope you are correct - I just can't see it.
Thanks again....
Brilliant just brilliant….
Glandore, Sure, the first post in this thread explains this. Thanks a million
That is fantastic seeing2020.
Can you point out where DMS is mentioned in the configurator?
I've had a little look and cannot see it -
Thank you....
The configurator on the VW website is a great source atm, since Friday DMS has been added to
Polo
Arteon
Taigo
Touran
ID.4
ID.5
This might be why Paul was so certain we would hit the target of "100% annual increase in cars on the road", to do that we need 655k over the 2 remaining quarters of FY24.
I guess time will tell.
Deramper?
What is that all about.
I shouldn’t have to make things up in my head and say its all going on behind the scenes,
We were told by Mcglone what was going on behind the scenes and I guess thats why I’m a deramper
You can’t see meaningful numbers because you haven’t got a clue what is going on behind the scenes.
Management can see meaningful numbers because they know what is going on in the very secretive world of automative supply chains, which oh, explains the multitude of Director buys over the last year or so.
If you don’t think that deals are almost done with timescales between ‘design wins’ and SOP coming down - mainly due to decreased timescales from design to production for the RVM, then sadly, I think your driveway possibly isn’t reaching your garage. From the quality of recent deramper posts on this page, delusion is clearly spreading.

Higher royalty revenues contributed to total revenue growth as Seeing Machines' fleet grew to 1.5m cars, up 116% over last year. In addition to the US$82m German contract, the company was appointed to deliver 2 additional automotive programs with a combined initial value of US$45m, bringing total won business to 17 programs with 11 individual OEM customers. This brings cumulative initial lifetime value of all OEM programs to US$366m, with the majority expected by 2028.
Can’t see meaningful numbers before 2026 myself

The portfolio will be significantly upgraded again in 2024 with important bestsellers such as the Golf, Tiguan, Passat, Octavia and Superb, often enhanced with modern hybrid technology, and the all-electric MEB family. All upgrades will further strengthen the Group’s position. In addition, there are completely new all-electric models such as the Porsche Macan Electric and the Audi Q6 e-tron01 on the Premium Platform Electric as well as the MEB-based VW ID.702 and ID.7 Tourer03, the CUPRA Tavascan04 and the VW ID. Buzz01with a long wheelbase.
Due to the numerous product highlights, the Group expects incoming orders in Western Europe to pick up speed in the coming months, compared to the previous year. This also applies to the all-electric vehicles that are already available and for which Volkswagen Group has started the new year with a clearly positive trend, compared to the previous year’s period.
Overall, the Group is confident about a record year for new models in 2024, in which more than 30 new product launches are planned thanks to powerful platforms
A key point from what Colin said yesterday is for DMS to get awarded points from Euroncap it must be installed across all trims not just the top spec trim.
Thats huge as VW will want the points, hence its across all Golf trims, not start with the top spec and a slow drip down to lower trims

VW don’t need to put camera based DMS into the golf or indeed any current model until 2026, I’d be surprised if it was in there.

No problem - After all these years you should know I deal in facts.......
Post the link then, it's not available when I try to actually order a vehicle via their website.
One of the funny posts for years is that Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor" is "merely a cover term for lane crossings etc"
The standard of deramping is really dropping
It may well now include DMS for new models but it is not definitive.
It is correct S2020 - the ID4 Spec since 01/01/2024 includes the exact term and does not include DMS.
What terms are used elsewhere does not negate that fact.
I also think it's camera based DMS on the Golf, Polo etc (Advanced driver attention & drowsiness monitor). In contrast to the ID3, which I guess is the steering wheel based stuff (Driver alert system, fatigue detection).
Thats not correct Glandore, when I configure an ID4 on the VW website I get
"Technology and safety
Driver alert system, fatigue detection"
Thats not DMS
