Will really be an issue once a vaccine is here. We are on the cusp of another lockdown to ensure folks have a decent Christmas. That much I agree with. However, SAGE have thrown Boris under the bus with all the leaks. Shame on them but they have been waiting for a long time for a relevance so who can blame them for a bit of glory hunting. Anyway, let's wait a few more weeks and all the minor issues will be long behind us. ATB
Though I'm not in favour of a further lockdown, a time-limited lockdown should, in theory, do no harm to Saga.
Insurance would be hardly affected at all. Cruising wouldn't be affected, because there isn't any; on the contrary, if a lockdown now would make the prospect of a return to cruising in the spring more certain, then it would be a positive.
actually there would be another fall in car insurance claims in especially the over 70s who are asked to be extra careful
however i suspect the market reaction would be bad on Monday as it could mean cruising is further put back!!!
Plus reduced motor claims occurance.
rupan it could also be brought forward?
The argument goes both ways. The whole point of this ridiculous lockdown to control this even more ridiculous over exaggerated virus is to control and stop it “spreading” so if that works then that’s a good thing isn’t it?
IMO we have backed a winner here guys and all will be good next year.
Rox, agree that this is a winner. However saga can not really bring forward cruises due to planning with ports and selling tickets to customers.
Yes rupan I agree tbh it was a bit tongue in cheek. My point was that the lockdown is not necessarily a bad thing for Saga. There might be a little dip tomorrow morning following the ftse but IMO we are quite resilient now at this level and this is not a ramp but I for one will be adding more funds here as soon as I can realistically release them from elsewhere.
The future is bright the future is SAGA (that was a ramp! Ha ha)
Rox - flattered that you're an attentive reader of my posts, in particular the one on 26/10/20.
Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery, as they say.
OOPs! Sorry Pian at least we are in agreement and on the same page!
Ha ha “The future is bright the future is SAGA” I didn’t realise Pianista had already posted that! Drat
Rox- great minds think alike, obviously (except when it comes to dilution!)
Is this whole joke being managed by a Quango - PHE?
Police raid gathering of 700 youths enjoying a drink and a bit of music,
new realism this whole thing is a syndemic - those that abused their bodies for whatever reason and must be saved at the expense of all others?
May the gatherings continue and the conflicts continue - since there is no just cause - similarly our SP
Saga is the future. Buy and hold for big rewards

''this even more ridiculous over exaggerated virus ''
It is quite obvious to most people that the daily infection figures released are well and truly an understatement of the reality.
Long Covid can be a problem with some people even with those not having hospital treatment for the initial infection.

''I for one will be adding more funds here ''
Will you be using new, or old money.
Good morning everybody. Going to be an interesting week. Could be wrong (usually am) but I really don’t think this lockdown will change the Saga share price much. I think hunk we will continue operating in this price range.
LTI funny question but new money from AVCT.
IMO infections are going up because the Genie is out of the bottle and no amount of lockdowns is going to put it back in again. Covid sadly is just something we are all going to have to live with.

Or die with.
