Just been for an ultrasound and the nurse was saying some restrictions may have to return due to rise in cases. Sun newspaper also recently have done a story as to masks and free lft tests returning due to the steep rise in cases.
Imo this is because there's no capacity to test outside of a very narrow subset of the population and the limitations of currently carrying out all testing at PD. The US seems to have realized that they're massively underestimating cases and began to expand testing outside of CDC labs only We'll realize when it's made it's move into the wider population, a day late and a dollar short.

much worse illness, which if Nova are on ball will be there saving grace in addition to dhsc outcome - Texas (2 & 1/2 times the size of UK) rife with it, some mild, some harsh! Very little mask wearing, almost as if they are above it? But experienced it first hand… babies to adults… Testing only way to slow it / control it! imo

The day to day running costs such as wages, materials, expenses, consumables will be opex. Purchase of machinery and other equipment will be capex. The assets of R&D will be mainly the machinery and the patents of products.
Agree yes that at these low levels of revenue the op margin gets eaten up pretty quickly by the admin expenses leaving little left for net profit. Hence the need now to significantly cut back on admin expenses. Good to see that they are increasing R&D expenditure though. Hopefully they won't shrink the S&D budget too much. We need to be able to sell the products we develop after all.

"COVID-19 has become a leading cause of death in Australia – Urgent Call for Action"
Confirm much worse in terms of Pandemic related illness come Christmas , or much worse for Novacyt?
Capex or Opex put R&D where ever you want but I and 50% of people view R&D as an asset not expense.
Main point was ignore the gross margin it means nothing for companies like Novacyt, it's the profit after production costs. It does not account for the cost of R&D and Novacyt spend a lot on R&D. So 70% gross margin for Novacyt disappears in a puff of smoke when to get to earnings
Just got home, been travelling 24/7 + 3 hours due to delay after delay!
How it appears to me, is that since all the lay offs once furlough stopped, few jobs have been replaced!
The airports hotels etc cant even cope with luggage, let alone test for Covid or Monkeypox etc, so most have chosen to ignore it!
Hence I can only see things getting much much worse from now until Christmas…
Then we will see, a clearer picture, of how bad things are going to get? imo
Can't remember, however is the SNPsig Escaplex upon the CTDA Register? I'd hope that the reason for not tweeting about the LFT is due to current supply already meeting demand.
Because they don't have cdta for the LFT?
Obviously they have the CE mark, why bother trying to sell them in the EU, it's only 30 countries.
SD yes understand that but why the hell are they pushing SNPsig and not that and the LFT's ?
The key words ' able to detect the virus regardless of current known mutations'
PathFlow® SARS-CoV-2 Antigen is a professional and home use LFT for the detection of SARS-CoV-2 antigens using non-invasive anterior nasal swab samples to provide a result in approximately 15 minutes. Novacyt has been working with a partner to develop this test, which is able to detect the virus regardless of current known mutations. The Company intends to launch the test as CE-IVD before the end of Q2 2021 and expects it to complement Novacyt's established position in COVID-19 PCR testing. As the market for COVID-19 testing continues to develop, the Directors believe this product could add significant revenues for Novacyt.
Ba.2 was dominant and ba.4 & 5 were both sequencing in significant numbers when it was launched, no reason to think it wouldn't. Earlier developed RATs aren't having a problem detecting these variants.
Novacyt just posted this. Does anyone know if the new home LFT picks up these variants ?

Do you hold Globetrotter ?
Unfortunately it has done nothing for their share price, other than a very quick pump and dump in the days after.
Shanghai Gears Up For Mass Covid Tests, More Cities Impose Curbs https://www.asiafinancial.com/shanghai-gears-up-for-mass-covid-tests-more-cities-impose-curbs
Again from my basic perspective there must be some merits in doing some deals with the Q machines(very cheap or even free) to somebody purchasing x amount of assays.
Alas I'm just a driver sitting on a sun bed.
ValJu : Why not because of sheer incompetence. Nova had the advantage of being first of the block and failed to keep up the momentum. Adverts galore for new recruits but in my view all eye wash to give the impression that the company had plans for world wide sales. The monkey pox first off the block announcement another diversion with insignificant bottom line benefits.
You would think wouldn't you Wilson given that we have just written off another £6.5m of stock. Lol. What's that, only 650k tests or so. Who knows why we weren't able to shift them in the middle of a pandemic.
To put it into perspective, we have thrown more covid stock than we have sold so far this year and we're 6 months in.
Covid revenue £13m
Op margin of 70% means our materials costs were 30% so £3.9m of stock sold. £6.5m of stock tossed.
Give em a payrise.
The Company need to review the Usa sales force, because its rife and they should be getting sales left right n centre!
If not why not or get some one who will get orders!
We are making large margins, surely more intelligent to cut your margin and sell many more.
"Let's not forget that the Pandemic is still raging, it ain't going away and there's still a requirement for testing, "
does not matter if ncyt are not receiving any of the cash associated with it - which the last RNS suggested
