If this upward momentum continue after the long weekend. We shall see a new high next week.
Well, let's hope so anyway. Have a great weekend everyone and good luck.
......nope, the markets were down and M&G was down more, oh my!....
Stuck myself down for a few more. Decent divis and reasonable prospects for long term growth
The way IMB keeps going up MNG will be the best-paying dividend in the FTSE, with a fairly safe payout.
The markets are up 10%+ so far this year and this can only be seen as good news everything you can put money into seems to be doing well.
All MNG has to do is add funds to the total excluding existing investment growth and this will truly fly.
It's great to have nice regular payouts but it would be even better to have a little capital growth as well at the same time but M&G seems underperformed and lag behind the general markets these past few weeks. Need some good news to give it a push. Let's see what next week will bring. Hope that the SP will start to move up again soon. Have a great weekend everyone and GLA.
Ft suggested a few weeks back that PE would buy this. In the mean time we get paid to hold :)
Nice to see this rises back to over 220p again. Also it's outperforming the FTSE 100 as well. Long may it continue.....

(Thanks Batterseafish)
Which company is the mysterious PE that is constantly reputed to be likely to buy M&G?
With so many links to pay for websites being offered it would take my dividend income to find out what those offering the links are suggesting. Perhaps they might run off the significant bits as a synopsis for we poor of the parish?
One more push tomorrow will see the SP passing the previous high.
Come on M&G, you can do it!
Having bought my MNG at 235p, this has a way to go to reach its previous high. I think it got to something like 255/260p. JJ
The previous high I was talking about was the one before going ex-divi(226p not the all time high).....lol
Apologies, I managed to read the FT article, so assumed anyone could, but now it is behind a paywall. It doesn't mention any particular company wanting to take over, just says that M&G could be attractive to private equity firms generally, who might seek to break them up and sell off the parts. It also mentions Foley's publicity-shyness and the many challenges he faces, including poor fund performance, outflows of funds under management and reputational damage due to the long property fund closure. It still managed to seemed fairly upbeat about long term prospects though!
I think that new high might have to be put on hold for a while, A good time to add if you have the spare cash tho.
I think within a week or 2 we should get news on the 4th vaccine hopefully this will give the stocks another push-up.
Thank you, BBD, very kind of you.
Karv1, would this 4th vaccine be a remedy for the Kent, South African, or the Indian variant of the imaginary batflu that our ever-thoughtful and caring government finds so useful in keeping a supposedly free people in their hutches?
One to tuck away and review progress over years not days. Take the 8%yield and wait for the yield to lower as he sp rises which it will when the market determines it can keep the dividend going at atleast the current rate.
If we have a market correction, then buy more..
