Agreed. Will probably come with rather negative guidance about the future in both terms of demand and rises in costs. Not a year for consumer discretionary stocks! 63p needs to hold on this one.....
Haven't held these for a while but I see that the above has in the space of a month gone from zero to 6.025%. Pretty strong confidence it would seem.
Will probably buy in again

Looking at this sp performance, doubt there will be much to cheer about. Awful.
Thank you Peltata
Half year results are scheduled next, on 18th May
Morning l, does anyone know when we will get the next TU, i believe the last was 22/01/22?
GLA
Bit of volatility this morning, only news is an RNS, someone increasing their holding by 0.2% (still, that’s a million pounds I guess). Market is flipping between that being good or not!
Asimpleinvestor, I would rather have a company with a million pound turnover even if it makes a tiny loss than one with a one pound turnover and profits of one penny. The larger turnover company has a greater chance of profitability than having to scale up a company the size of a five year child's shop
simple, you make the point well. Without turnover there is NO profit.
Any experienced Investor knows the fundamentals without puerile statements.
"Without turnover there can be No Profit."
You can make a £1million turnover and still make a loss. Turning over £1 and making a 10p profit is much more worthwhile than turning over £1million and making a £1 loss.
@Shaperite.
I'm still here and invested mate. I've just been spending too much time in the Cess Pit known as Twitter (according to 'Er indoors). It's far too easy to get involved in stirring the pot in there I think.
So far, I've been blocked by Piers Morgan, Diane Abbott & Claudia Webbe, and I'm currently working on Kevin Maguire.
Too much free time on my hands, Me thinks.
" turnover is vanity, I'm more interested in profit"
Without turnover there can be No Profit. Many of us here are interested in Company profits which can enable PI's to see a return to dividends.
"It is now well over 1 year since CMBC were formed. Does anyone know what turnover has been reported, interim or otherwise?"
That appears to be a well kept secret currently except for a brief mention in Marston’s PLC Annual Report and Accounts 2021, though turnover is vanity, I'm more interested in profit.
With these promotions, you and other PI's should be concerned. It may be aiding cash flow but what is it doing to margins?
The re-introduction of full rate VAT ( 20%) has also to be absorbed..
It is now well over 1 year since CMBC were formed. Does anyone know what turnover has been reported, interim or otherwise?
Yesterday bought 8 bottles of Pedigree from Morrisons for £5.94 ( four for the price of three ), equates to £ 0.7425 per bottle. Considering that Pedigree is a premium brew , I am concerned that such giveaways like this are symptomatic of the problems that all breweries are facing , The next six months will decide, but in the meantime " Viva La Pedigree " P.S. Where are you Trent ?
Costs must be rising sharply for all pubs, and today’s inflation data shows beer prices rising less than inflation, ie not keeping up with other costs. Any price rise might be enough to deter customers. Profit warning sooner or later...
Blimey, looks like 60s at this rate over the summer.. awful
I travel the Midlands on a regular basis , Ive noticed that a lot of Marstons houses that do the " cheapie" two for one are absolutely rammed between 6 o clock to 7 45 ish , good news for footfall, especially when the more discerning hostelries seem very deserted ( No pun intended ). Viva La Pedigree !!!!!
Yes good thank you
Very quiet on the board of late. Are we all ok?
@ Buzzby67. I hope you are right mate. This is a good company that I like, that's why I've stuck with it through these thin times.
Oddly, as you mention the mining share, up until now I've shyed away from them as beyond the general gist of what they do, I know naff all about the sector but something caught my eye half way through last week about gold possibly being a safe haven in these troubled times, and the growth potential of lithium for EV's.
As posted on here, I've had a bit of good fortune with one of my other shares and topsliced my profit there.
Anyway, long story short I've split the proceeds between 3 ddifferent companies SAV, ENW, & GGP to spread my risk a bit.
May fortune favour my bravery (or foolishness).
Possible return may come in a year or two. Alba gold mine in Wales is sifting thru spoil heaps , waiting for de-watering permits. You ca buy a million for circa 2K.
Yes, I remember those days mate. I even remember the days of £1+.
Ok thanks Trent, holding up a bit like the SP is doing at the minute. Hoping for next step up to >85p and back to the good old 90's - do you remember those good old days :-)) Realise it was a distant memory but here's hoping.
How are we all holding up?
