I hope we are all well.
Yes, it's good to see. Long may it continue.
Happy to see this touching the mid 80's again, hopefully a 1-2% increase tomorrow and we will almost be back into the 90's.
A nice steady rise over the last few days.
Ive just got a couple of £100 to find a home for, so it'll be more of a back burner one rather than divvis I think.
Is it dividend you looking for are just a long term profit me IAG ALFA,Lloyds just three I can think of the choice is yours what stocks you looking at
@Sadanby. Yeah, that's the problem at the moment, isn't it. Eeny, meany, miny mo! Lol
Most of the stock market cheap so pick a stock
Sorry for off topic, but'm in a bit of an odd position atm. I've put a chunk of my trading pot into PFD to see if I can add a £100 or so to it (which I'll be putting in here if/when I get it)
But I've still got a couple of hundred quid left that I'm looking for a home for. I was considering gold mining but something's putting me off. Any suggestions at all?
Thanks Barchid. It's nice to chalk one up in the win column from time to time, isn't it.
Trent
Well done old mate !
@Barchid. Yes, you are correct. I am in SGC. I sold them & got a nice little wedge out of it. But I got wind that Nex are "considering their position" on proceedings, so bought back in with a 2500 share holding to see if there was any more mileage in it, but I've got a nice little trading pot of just over £1k in my ISA looking for a home.
Trent
Not MARS related but I recall you saying you owned SGC a while back, that was a pleasant tickle this week for you if you are still a holder wasn't it ?
@ Charlie Bur. Yes, he is a worry, isn't he. You expect them to get the basics right.
@FD. You have to laugh at the state of some of the world's "Politicians".
Joe Biden: "Putin is invading Russia"
Diane Abbott "No, Russia is invading Croatia" .
With people like that in any kind of authority, we're all doomed. You really can't make it up can you?
Hi Trent just seen your post. It is puzzle. I have been to Ukraine and know several Business people. They all have a different pronounciation. Some Keeve, some say Keyf. On maps and street signs Kiev is spelt Kyiv which can be confusing when there is a city in the west called Lviv. I am told Keyf is the Russian name. Noticeably the BBC are now calling the capital Keeve. Maybe it is all designed to confuse and that is why the Russian convoy is stuck....they are confused, totally!!
Back to things germane to MARS more particularly CMBC, One of the basic ingredients for brewing, Malting Barley has rocketed in price for immediate delivery and more importantly Forward Contracts. Grain being used now should have been forward purchased last Autumn. There are going to some enormous cost increases for everything. Company's will not be able to absorb and doubtful how Consumers are going to be able to cover.
The Guy just appointed is clearly been brought in to improve margins within the Hospitality side. He will need to be on his metal given current and future constraints on service price delivery.
Definitely Biden
I got an extra 95 followers on Twitter with that little nugget.
Oh, and Joe Biden thinks that Vladimir Putin is invading Russia.
I'm not sure who I'm more scared of. Biden or Putin.
Apparently, it's not Kiev, Keeeav or Kyav.v
It's pronounced Croatia apparently.
I hope that my research has stopped everyone scratching their heads trying to find out themselves.
Yes, 30% off food, but nothing off marstons hotels. A watered down replacement to the card, on top of a very poor sp performance which will get worse. No chance of dividend for next few years ...what’s not to like ? Cheers marstons CEO and BODs.
Had To Vouchers today HL valid MAY TO JANUARY
Just had a book of vouchers (12) each giving 30% off food for up to 8 people in a Group. Sent to me by Halifax Sharedealing who are my brokers
Trent
Absolutely correct, the more info the better for us all.
@Barchid. I'm happy to share my findings with you all. It's information that's good to know so that we can all see what to expect when those cards expire.
@Barchid
Yes there's that too. I just hope things improve for us after the restrictions are lifted on Thursday, and some kind of normality returns.
