Totally agree - certainly the staff today were excellent, very friendly and overall they gave the impression of an efficiently run establishment which is a good sign
Went in my local Mars managed pub with partner to use one of my 30% off vouchers. Very busy for a lunchtime Friday. The food for their sort of prices was very good. A pint plus soft drink and 2 mains was £25 with the voucher. Can't go wrong in these inflationary times
I think the RNS referred to a special dividend as being equivalent to £1.72 per share rather than £2.72 but please do check
oh that's unfortunate. The terms and conditions do say that the vouchers are only redeemable at M's managed sites. To see where you can use the vouchers go to www.marstonspubs.co.uk/pubs/finder - look for the pubs marked with a red dot showing the words SV. If the pub you visited is so listed maybe the Manager has got it wrong.
they got sent to me. Its a book of 12 such vouchers that have to be used by 31 January 2023. I think they replaced the reward card that MARS used to issue to qualifying shareholders. I am not sure if the book of vouchers was sent to me by MARS or by my broker as my investments are held in nominee account
Just been in my local Marstons pub to take advantage of one of my 30% off vouchers. Two main courses (menu price just below £10) medium glass of wine and a pint of Bitter - £20 with the voucher - not much margin there as I reckon they must have wrongly applied the 30% to the drinks as well as the food. Its a big place but custom not bad for a Tuesday lunchtime given school hols just finished
Just had a book of vouchers (12) each giving 30% off food for up to 8 people in a Group. Sent to me by Halifax Sharedealing who are my brokers
I think actually the Govt sold its holdings in QQ but it still exercises certain controls presumably on security grounds.
Fully agree- been in and out of these quite a few times so far with good profits each time. Always surprised that they never seem to break out above £3.50. I suppose that unlike what has happened with other defence contractors there is little takeover speculation here as I assume the Govt still has a stake although of course could be wrong on that assumption.
Just what I thought. I held Meggitt and the dealings and price rise in my personal opinion look quite similar to what we have here. I have sold my holding today in MEGG and was fortunate that I held on for the second parties interest.
Agree but the way this has been moving the last 10 days or so might suggest that a bid is not out of the question
I think the FTSE tracker funds will have to buy it when it enters the FTSE 100 so that might have an impact on the share price - but conversely the FTSE250 trackers will I assume have to sell
If you have transferred all or some of your SAGA shares to another nominee provider/custodian,your eligibility for bonus shares will not be affected. As I see it if you transferred your share certificate into a nominee account (eg Barclays Stockbtokers/Halifax ShareDealing) your right to bonus shares will not be affected
