My usual weekend update,
I started this fantasy portfolio in 2016 to challenge various posters perception that Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dog of a share', on the 8th Oct 2016 I invited WL/Newchurch to choose an alternative ftse 100 company so I could run a comparison
On 8th Oct 2016 - 1000 quid bought 206 BP. shares & 1905 Lloy shares
Today's value
BP. 206 @ 564 = 1162
Lloy 1905 @ 60.8 = 1158
In April 2017 Invest4life suggested I add Glencore -
On 22-4-17 - 1000 quid bought 335 Glen shares & 1553 Lloy shares
Today's value
Glen 335 @ 321 = 1075
Lloy 1553 @ 60.8 = 944
In May 2017 Pugsy suggested I add Ocado -
On 22-5-17 - 1000 quid bought 331 Ocdo shares & 1392 Lloy shares
Today's value
Ocdo 331 @ 1080 = 3575
Lloy 1392 @ 60.8 = 846
In July 2017 Nucky suggested I add RBS -
On 12-7-17 1000 quid bought 384 RBS & 1512 Lloy
Today's value
RBS 384 @ 245 = 940
Lloy 1512 @ 60.8 = 919
In July 2017 Utrickytrees asked that I add BARC -
On 30-7-17 1000 quid bought 479 Barc & 1504 Lloy
Today's value
Barc 479 @ 184 = 881
Lloy 1504 @ 60.8 = 914
This weeks observation - OMG wish I'd bought Ocdo, little movement overall, banks still mostly neck & neck,
Overall conclusion -
A very basic comparison that does no include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dog of a share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.

Look at az 20 year chart of Lloyds v ULVR, then weep
for Lloyds shareholders.
And no I would not advocate buying ULVR right now.
Lloyds - long term wealth destroyer?.
Similar comparisons on a 20 year basis - Lloyds v RB. Lloyds v DGE.

Figures speak for themselves, yes there are worse shares than Lloyds but they are hard to find.I am buying because a bounce is due.Remember this is October and fear of the past stops buying.Good for contrarians.
Not so widows and orphans.
ps.irish and scottish have had a hard time recently, what about the welsh.Never found jealousy worth the bother who would change their problems for someone else`s?
Read the papers, have lunch out, enjoy the ponies and football and relax in the garden. The world is going to blazes anyway.
James, you can make a short term trading buy case on Lloyds imv.
Best guess is if we pop up on results, it may be short lived.
So based on your own comparisons, and other than the other banking share (Barclays), all other shares suggested and if bought over the last c2 years are all now doing better than Lloyds. I suspect no matter what happens to the SP your opinion/conclusions will not change. ATB, Scfc

In July 2017 Utrickytrees asked that I add BARC -
On 30-7-17 1000 quid bought 479 Barc & 1504 Lloy
Today's value
Barc 479 @ 176 = 843
Lloy 1504 @ 59.5 = 895
In Sept 2018 Motley Fool recommended Diageo over Lloyds
On 9-9-18 1000 quid bought 37.3 DGE & 1704 Lloy
DGE 37.3 @ 2634 = £982
Lloy 1704 @ 59.5 = £1014
This weeks observation - all up except for DGE & Barc - banks still mostly neck & neck, OMG wish I'd bought, sold then short Ocdo,
Overall conclusion -
A very basic comparison that does no include divi yield, IMO those still suggesting Lloy is 'the worst share ever' or a 'dog of a share' seriously need to examine their concept of investing.
