Personally i dont disagree with you Albus and in fact I do use BTC but I do this myself - not via KR1. Soon there will be other vehicles to get BTC exposure but there are already miners and MSTR (US Co.). In the meantime I am more than happy to be allowed to invest in KR1 and dont to date question the two.
They may end up with 5 or more $100m stakes at the peak of this bull run!.
I think that there may come a time when they consider a divi or share buyback (my preference would be for them to do this in the bear market) but I would never suggest to the 2 of them in the same manner as I would not have offered tips or thoughts to Buffett & Munger - I dont think its too far from the truth to say that given another 10 years, these 2 will be mentioned in the same kind of revered manner.
NAV now £205m, equates to 115p for KR1. TIA has raced to $15.57 which is £91m in itself
Hi
But surely they can simply add more BTC to their assets with the reward income proceeds !
In my opinion this is a safer long term holding than probably a lot of the others
I think you will find in most projects they cannot get more as they are typically invite only ….imo
Agree with earlier poster that it would nice to have bigger positions in some of
our miniscule size placements - because any of them could easily turn into another
major out-performer. However, it seems company policy dictates that each holding
has to earn its keep, and will rise to the top on its own merits. Fair enough.
We especially dont want to lighten up our TIA position imo. This holding is currently
the class of the field, having smashed its way into the top 40 from nowhere, and
perhaps it could even make the top 10 during this cycle. My understanding of the
technicalities is very limited, but if TIA is the 'new internet' version of blockchain
- conceptually quite different to its peers - it will allow users to set up their own
individualised applications - much like their own website - is how I interpret it.
I also hold some Solana , because they also have a fresh approach. Quite possibly
TIA or SOL, or even both could usurp ETH in the next cycle 2028 or thereabouts ?
As far as UK blockchain operations are concerned, this is the only bluesky opportunity
currently available.
Kia leading the way again into 2024. Over $14 again !
Think you will find them in Gibraltar !
Think you will find them in Gibraltar !
Thank you everyone for the insights - I have not found another Crypto stock like this now and it is tucked in my ISA and will look to build a larger position over time. As I said - I could not see red flags before but it is good to be on a board with people who post genuine opinion.
And no - I am not in the others (I traded one recently) - but the UK market is short of real Crypto opportunities and there are only two I am now invested in.
GLA - let's see how the year plays out!
It is Franco, but it takes that most precious of resources - time. I was hoping a kind soul with more of the latter than I at present may share a view they have collated.
It’s fairly easy to research the projects. Look up Anoma for example.
Totally agree Nelson. The roadmaps for some of these projects would be great to know.
Of recent they seem to be giving funding to other seed investor groups - I assume this is recognition that the boys limit their activity to what they know and do not overstretch.
Of interest to me if anyone has the info to hand would be the expected timelines of any other of their projects going live. If there is another TIA or even mini TIA's in the pipe it would be good to know when they will arrive (even estimates).

It seems the directors are looking to build a portfolio in which staking returns feature heavily which is a great strategy. I’d like to see more transparency with what’s being done with those returns. 12 million in annual staking returns is not peanuts and isn’t all eaten by seed funding.
There is no other fund to compare to kr1 . GMcD & KVS are maestros .and have mainline connections to.the best developers out there .they get invited to partake in the best projects @ seed fund rounds they make it there business to understand and digest what will be the next BTC/ ETH/ TIA .
Granted ! The whole digital./ crypto thing has big risks involved . BUT who you going to trust in this sphere. David lenigas.... ARB .. QUANT ?????
Nah !! No way works I trust any of those * fly by night.s * with my money .
There is only one team I trust .to hold my ISA friendly funds and that's the Dynamic Duo based in Douglas
For what it's worth . The sp bounced along in single digits in 2016 garnering interest from crypto enthusiasts .it hot 18p then reversed . Next high was around 26p. Then reverse in 2018 the crypto world gained attention from Joe blogs . Kr1 sp started boiling in the teens then blasted past ath and kept going . Same as now the £1 mark was formidable resistance. ( a lot coz obody though we would hit a £1 ) . Then Voila during 2020 to summer 21 it bounced around peaking around 260p. Then reverse .tracking the crypto.market cap .
Personally .! this time round seems a different pattern more of trading the margins . However the fundamentals are far superior to previous cycles . If the crypto market cap keeps expanding .then kr1 sp.will follow suit . Quite simple and stress free .
Take a position .HODL. Switch off for 12 months and let this new financial system morph. KR1 will play a major part of this digital asset space
Should this digital asset .asset class gain heavy interest in wall street ( or b permitted to.grow in the USA) then kr1 portfolio will balloon exponentially. As will the sp.
Happy new year
I don’t think aquis helps but this will run due to the lack of anything similar available to uk investors to stick in an isa and get tax free exposure to crypto
NAV at £205m this morning and only taking seed investments at initial value. Also staking revenues not factored in, which should exceed £12m per annum now
Most of the PF has come from seed investments….for example the latest addition TIA came from a 75k investment and now worth £78m. Same with DOT and LIDO these guys know how to pick the best projects
Is this not because they are a seed investor for startup chains and therefore it will always look unbalanced in that way? This is the point of KR1 is it not. So very light on BTC compared to others but they do seem to know what they are doing as the NAV outstrips the SP at the moment.
Am I missing something in your question?
I’m guessing because they never sell anything. There’s 8 years of good and bad projects in there so unless you need the money why sell. Maybe they still have commitments and baked in contracts with these older projects.
Hi all. Why is our portfolio so unbalanced with only small holdings in majors and large holdings in possibly more risky cryptos and a plethora or what seem not worthwhile holdings. Dont understand this - am I not getting something?
hi, this stock has always been odd on the barclays smart investor app. it only updates the price once the market is closed, and during weekends etc it sometimes shows a minus ££££££££!!!!! for day as if the stock price went to zero. i **** myself the first time i saw that. i guess it’s some technical api query bug that it uses to get the aq market prices.
Quoted coin NAV per share looks around 115p this morning, so plenty of running room even without continuation of the overnight crypto breakout. Well done all.
Knew it, thank you
