I would love to see divi re-instatement but realistically I can't see happening that until IAG debt levels are dramatically reduced from current levels.
If we can hold in the 180s after next results I believe that is a good result, then I would be looking for continued revenue and profit improvement plus debt reduction, before divs restarting later this year.

It is quite normal for companies to issue a dividend announcement at a quarterly financial update. Shareholders would also be notified directly. Whether they will or not is the question.
Whatever happens lets hope we keep moving up.
GLA
Agreed. These are not full year results.
The current riseis, I think, based on what we already know about how busy Heathrow is, forward booking numbers etc.
The pessimist in me anticipates maybe even a small drop but I’ll hope for 185; for now
OJ (no relation, I hope) - thanks for that, it reduces the potential volatility and I have had enough that for one week. Or a lifetime. I'll settle for 186'ish at close on Friday.
Bobbins - its a quarterly financial update - there will be no mention of dividends as normal -it wont affect the share price one bit
Not sure about Friday. Even if the figures are good (like Jaqueline Bisset's figure good), if there is no mention of restoring the dividend, that may be frowned upon, and reflected in the price. A positive outlook for the summer months, and the announcement of even a small dividend, could see a major uplift. On the upside, we are coming at it from a (relatively) positive place - less than a month ago, we were sub 160, and two months ago just above 140 - so a starting point of over 180 is quite comforting. If we should have good news, and hit 190 plus on Friday, I will be selling a small chunk, and reinvesting it in the (now mythical) bottle of Dom Perignon, and inviting my local barmaid to join me in a celebratory meal - no expense spared - ie, go large, and have extra fries, possibly even a milkshake. Never let it be said that I don't know how to treat a lady.
I thought I had read that the Moody update was timed to be after the Q1 data.
But who knows in this world possibly the Co, may have the nod from them on what to expect, and hopefully reintroduce a divi.
Well we have a day to wait.
I go for 194 open Friday, with a close of 202
Gla
Hoping £2.00 but we’re still awaiting for the Moodys upgrade noted on 18th March Int'l Consolidated Airlines Group, S.A.: Update following placement of ratings on review for upgrade. If upgraded this would allow IAG to start dividend payments again and the we’re looking at 2.40+
If there is any mention of the dividend re introduction, I would estimate 196p. But would be more than happy to see it finish higher.
Any thoughts for Share Price close on Friday following the results?
Let's have a bit of fun now that we're back of 180. I'm going to stick my neck out at say good solid results, 200!
Am in rolls royce as well , but looked at iag being the next big thing. i feel i don't really need to watch my rolls investment nore keep up with the forum. am more focused on my iag investment as this has great growth still to come.
Very good today, the sky is blue and we are going to fly for the next few weeks and months, looking forward to Friday, goodnight
Nice to see the rise, I bailed out a some months ago and piled everything into RR which as everyone knows has done very well.
But pleased to see the rise for all those long suffering long term holders who have been patient, I hope Friday brings the rewards to all.
Fly the Flag ( ok that's old but some will remember):)
Good show peeps - GOOD SHOW :)
I flew biz class to Heathrow to Singapore on the 5th a380 -800 okay it was Singapore airlines but it was full every seat taken.
I think 🤔 the biz flyers are back.
Makes a refreshing change to see this rise HIGHER then my RR share - lets see if this can be as good to me as the RR share has been/is being :)
Here's hoping for a GOOD year with IAG :)
Let's enjoy the flight ✈️. ATB
FTSE 100 constituent stocks are bought in by institutions for their dividend yield. At least , historically. So someone like IAG , when it halts or doesn't indicate when it is going to payout a divi, will automatically face a downgrade in SP as a result of the anticipated yield decreasing. So even if quarterly results are looking good as in the case of IAG, the "extra cap return" depends if the BoD is going to make some noises about divi. Which means that if say Earnings suggest a 5% improvement over same period last year, expect the SP to re-rate around this magnitude. BUT if the BoD makes a noise about divi, it will jump to the higher end of the analysts' forecasts that we have been seeing in the past few months ( ie 220 or so).

OK the pandemic is over and IAG is achieving record sales. But there has been little recovery at all. Trading at a P/E of 4! Everyone is afraid something will happen and sure things will happen - but if people start launching Nukes - it doesn't matter what share you have. I don't understand the current valuation so I am holding firm unless someone can justify why the valuation is so low.
Sold some iag I had bought for a quick trade..invested it in CCL which is low and is due a big bounce soon IMO. We shall see in the summer how they do. DYOR.
@Conger2 - after nearly 3 years of PAIN - now is not the time to falter in your IAG journey.
We may have finally left the gate and are heading for the runway barring a tire puncture or a bird attach on the engine :)
Well I never lol 😂
I know what you mean I have far too much invested here I need an alternative!
