I flew biz class to Heathrow to Singapore on the 5th a380 -800 okay it was Singapore airlines but it was full every seat taken.
I think 🤔 the biz flyers are back.
Makes a refreshing change to see this rise HIGHER then my RR share - lets see if this can be as good to me as the RR share has been/is being :)
Here's hoping for a GOOD year with IAG :)
Let's enjoy the flight ✈️. ATB
FTSE 100 constituent stocks are bought in by institutions for their dividend yield. At least , historically. So someone like IAG , when it halts or doesn't indicate when it is going to payout a divi, will automatically face a downgrade in SP as a result of the anticipated yield decreasing. So even if quarterly results are looking good as in the case of IAG, the "extra cap return" depends if the BoD is going to make some noises about divi. Which means that if say Earnings suggest a 5% improvement over same period last year, expect the SP to re-rate around this magnitude. BUT if the BoD makes a noise about divi, it will jump to the higher end of the analysts' forecasts that we have been seeing in the past few months ( ie 220 or so).

OK the pandemic is over and IAG is achieving record sales. But there has been little recovery at all. Trading at a P/E of 4! Everyone is afraid something will happen and sure things will happen - but if people start launching Nukes - it doesn't matter what share you have. I don't understand the current valuation so I am holding firm unless someone can justify why the valuation is so low.
Sold some iag I had bought for a quick trade..invested it in CCL which is low and is due a big bounce soon IMO. We shall see in the summer how they do. DYOR.
@Conger2 - after nearly 3 years of PAIN - now is not the time to falter in your IAG journey.
We may have finally left the gate and are heading for the runway barring a tire puncture or a bird attach on the engine :)
Well I never lol 😂
I know what you mean I have far too much invested here I need an alternative!
Even for hardcore rollercoaster afficionados such as myself, yesterday was quite a test of stomach strength. Taking on this ride, plus the even more dangerous EZJ one as well, has left me somewhat drained, and my voice has gone, due to all that screaming. When I saw the drop out of the blue at lunchtime, I initially thought someone had launched a missile attack into Tel Aviv, or some such place. Thankfully it wasn't that - just seems to have been comments by Ryanair's notoriously gobby boss, a man who, ironically, would probably be quite at home in the Middle East - he could start a fight in an empty room. Thankfully, we have recovered well here (EZJ not so much), so I guess all eyes now turn to the figures out on Friday, and what that brings.
This sector really isn't for the faint hearted or squeamish, so I am going to be looking for something a little less stressful going forward - Russian roulette possibly.
It was definitely O'Learys comments according to Proactive Investor. If I were cynical I'd say him or his pals had a good buying opportunity yesterday. Few heads ups going round.
TBF, it's already climbing and at it's highest level for two and a half years. You're right, some good news should push it through 200.
This stock seems to be holding firm witch makes me believe that it will start to climb on news
Good day today, back in the £1.80s
Predictive text got the better of me. Border Force!!
Hmm... Coincidence with the big drop in airline shares earlier today? Did someone know? Hope this is not a cyber attack
Now looks like issues at Heathrow , Gatwick and Manchester. Looks like the Uk Boarder system has crashed causing chaos at Uk airports
Why is Google showing £1.83 finish price,it's rubbish

How can rates be flat when there is no drop in fuel price ???
Everything else has dropped but fuel no change yet .
Wouldn’t be nice for Iag to comment and say we are actually rising price by %15 after this comment 🤣🤣🤣
""Looking at summer ... We thought pricing would be up 5-10%. We're heading to flat (pricing year-on-year) to 5% up, which is surprising with a lot of the Airbus (AIR.PA), opens new tab fleet grounded for maintenance," he told Reporters in Brussels."
I'm keeping mine till £2.50 then selling,up down up down, confident about £2.50 this year
O'Leary's shareholders won't be thanking him for his remarks today unless some other motive, not yet evident, shows itself in the future, eg to re-enforce the image of cheaper fares for the public as 'RonR' mentions.
Savory nice to see an informed commentary for a change, agree that the value is there, share price dilution, debt and dividends are holding this back but there is light at the end of the tunnel, fingers crossed....
