@JamesOxford, Russia has its own set of problems (military, economic, social) & imo cannot afford to get involved. China are a different entity altogether (one to be wary of), although I think they will refrain from involving themselves too much. Like you said perhaps China will provide drones parts etc, but nothing major. The US & Israeli military have the military tech & strength to quickly diminish the antiquated Iranian resistance.The UK & Europe need not involve themselves atm (other than to protect their own areas of interest).

@JamesOxford, imo Iran will or should surrender.The current Iranian regime is facing an existential crisis.Whether they accept a short term “offer they cannot refuse” & salvage whatever remains of their governance or alternatively stagger on towards an inevitable collapse is the question. I do not see this war lasting more than 18 months, perhaps the next one (Iranian civil war) might.

30/06/26 is still an expected conclusion date, so technically it could be <=> . Either way the clock is ticking, but I agree the FY2025 results will not be pretty. Going forward I continue to hope for brighter days ahead, fingers crossed.

With a fair wind I think the MCG sp will be near to or above £0.50 by EOY 26. The omission of any compensation was a little concerning, but it does not rule it out imo. It would be quite disappointing if none is included, after all some of the penalties incurred have been beyond the control of MCG.

It feels like the results have been published somewhere this past week given the sp performance. Next week or soon after ( you never know with Mobico) I expect we will all be able to view the Q3 update.

(Sharecast News) - FirstGroup shares fell sharply on Monday, dropping almost 12% in early trading, after the transport group reported a rise in first-half earnings but flagged continued pressure on passenger volumes and a cash outflow linked to accelerated investment in its bus electrification programme.

First Group share price has also seen a similar selloff/drop (yesterday & today), seems it is not specific to Mobico.

FWIW apparently Deloitte LLP have been auditing the accounts since 2011. Maybe the recent German rail reassessment caused them too many headaches they could do without, idk. Speaking of which perhaps the next RNS will be positive news on the German PTA discussions? GLA

@Genghisinvestor, Charleston Area Regional Transit Authority (CARTA) We Drive U contract will not be renewed at the end of this year. This was stated by Phil White in the webcast yesterday. So at least one of the two We Drive U issues has been resolved. I think WMATA has a driver shortage that is being addressed. PW also mentioned 4 potential We Drive U contract bids that are still pending. Also of note & still pending is an ALSA Saudi contract worth 500mln euro. Also the German PTA discussions I think will be resolved soon. It is not all doom & gloom, but it ain’t rosey either.

@Polishcap, not so long ago Mobico had a 56 year old CEO, a chairwoman, a CFO & other board members nod through a short lived dividend which in hindsight was Incomprehensible given the plight of the business.

Given a choice between the two, I would opt for the 75 year old blunt Yorkshireman over a 56 year old Spanish snake oil salesman.

Give the new management team some time to sort through the mess they have inherited, then maybe in a few years time a new CEO can be installed.

@LorenzoLynch, during today’s webcast the new CFO was pushed about the hybrid. He said atm they would roll it, however a final decision has not been made. So it is my belief they will roll it over, unless circumstances change significantly. Also of note during the webcast was the likelihood of a favourable outcome in the German PTA discussions in the very near future. No specifics given but the CFO’s tone was encouraging.

The PHNX interim dividend has been increased to 27.35p. So from that I would say the increase in the dividend sends an encouraging signal.

10% CSM growth, bodes very well for the future. SP back to >650p before going ex div imo. GLA

@John33, I agree a resolution in Germany cannot come soon enough. How Garat survived the Hokey Cokey dividend fiasco I will never quite understand. IMO I would bring a coat if he said it had stopped raining. Thankfully he is no longer in the picture here, left the company in quite a mess.

@Genghisinvestor & JG68, I think we will need to be very patient with this stock. Mobico has a long, winding & undulating road ahead of it, hopefully it’s a path to better fortunes. HY results are due in early September, fingers crossed all is well. GLA LTH
