I see it’s positive, business doing well so reward the employees who are running the business and doing all the hard work! It will remove staffing issues , low turnover which will save cost ( less training , business disruption less HR cost etc )company can focus on providing quality service to its passengers, generate decent profits, employees play a key role to any successful business! So I welcome this as investors of IAg ! My target price remained the same , £3.50 long term , £2.50 within next 6 months. Out of my two favourite, Rr already started motoring , I’m sure IAg will follow soon as travel industry booming and got back to pre Covid level

Well done bobbins and too right. Pay people a decent wage you get people that will stay long term. No need to train new people every 12-18 months due to staff leaving.
People that earn a living wage are happier, thus have a happier work environment. How can that be a bad thing, especially these days?
He sounds like a manic depressive , tread carefully :-)
We have a new troll to play games with! Bring it on MWall!!! .... Trolls dont last long on this board but are a good source of humour!
Cheers bruv - it's nice to know I am not alone.

Thumbs up from me.
M_wall - you are clearly a glass half empty sort of chap. As for huge pay-rises, do you mean people who have had their wages slashed in recent years having a pay rise that is marginally above the rate of inflation?
I would much rather see the staff being treated and paid properly than see a 2p rise in the share price, But that's just me.
The fact that there's so much outrage (not just here, but more broadly) about the idea that employees might be treated (and rewarded) like human beings, is a horrible reflection of where this country is going..
How to put this politely? F**k my investment - some things are more important. Like society, humanity, social equality, morality ,common decency..... I could keep going, but I cant be ar**d.. And you wouldn't understand anyway. People like you never do.

And where did you fly in from? "LutonAirport" Very interested to hear your view!
Probably just as much as the FOURTEEN OTHER, DIFFERENT, share chat pages you posted two line negative views on. Thats the information on the first page of your posting history, don't think your going to be a hit on here somehow.
Huge payrises, a gigantic debt pile, a recession coming in 2024 and the prospect of another global lockdown in the near-future in the form of international war. IAG has all their ducks lined up, except the ducks are all armed and will be aiming at them.
I see this as a good move on behalf of IAG, prevents strikes etc, happier staff (so to speak) could attract staff from other airlines.
Indeed it will affect the bottom line, but that bottom line is certainly increasing, and if they can continue in this vein, adding extra flights, with trained, happy staff, all bodes well.

Do they have 40,000 salary in average ? I previously lived near Hesthrow airport for 1 year, and rented a house from a BA staff. He complainted a lot about their salaries....especally the young person.
The rise of RR is a good sign. That SP has gone early courtesy of Govt defense orders. As you say the wind is blowing in the right direction commercially esp re debt reduction. Q4......
Im sounding like a broken guitar - Q4 boys! If you want a date then 1 Nov. DYOR but hold until that date....
Avg wage, + Employer Pension, and Employer NI Contributions.....£40,000.....
13% x £40,000 x 24,000 /18 months x 12 months = £83.2m Extra in Salaries/Pension/Tax
If the avg, including Pilots is £50k, then that's £104m Extra.
Let's hope that we are at 98% of 2019, not 97%.
A hit to the wage bill, no doubt with its inevitable effect on the bottom line....perhaps rather that than industrial action and cancelled flights. might even help them attract staff...on balance a positive, imho
Yup, its just timing I was not expecting RR to continue up on the results as they had been flagged already and the share went up 35p, yet it has gone up another 15p with the detailed results published.
I was expecting a lot more from IAG, but the debt and raising interest rates, I think is really hurting it, although as someone pointed out here, only 25% is on variable rates, the rest is fixed.
Maybe rr has the small nuclear contract
Conger2, RR went from £1.50 to £2 in no time..IAG can do the same. They are posting solid results, passenger numbers are up. It will get there. Stay the course , it will happen. GL and DYOR.
I was expecting IAG to be the one breaking the £2 barrier at this point not RR tbh.
I sold out of my RR stock at 1.85 and moved it all here, so that was not my best call ! lol
Sorry i appreciate that no1Scarlet i only bought in a few months ago at 1.44 , but im tempted to sell my RR has i have a 29.5% profit at moment and stick it all in IAG as im sure will be north of 3 pound next year once Divi is re-instated.
Also in both, it was always RR that would disappoint but the tables have now turned. IAG is awaiting another catalyst, what that is a don’t know but they are making good progress. Just nothing that is really wetting investors appetite right now hence why it’s pretty stagnant.
I was really hopeful after earnings but now not so confident. It’s seems very susceptible to bad news, very much like how rolls was last year.

I think there are a lot on here, who have been patient 🙏🙏🙏

IAG will break £2 in the not so distant future. RR did it, IAG will be next. GLA.
