Very true NYU16 good post and some very pertinent points. I too am a LTH. Thought of bailing when I broke even but live in hope of a better future.....!!
This market is punishing all apart from tech. Its a bloodbath out there but it also creates opportunities for some. sooner or later we will turn as we have all seen it before. nothing new there!!! hahahaha.
O and the Air Lingus strikes.
You mean Net debt and it is more likely around 5b which is pre COVID level, it looks to me the Market does like the Euro Air deal, the election, cost of living, the wars, debt levels and lack of dividend guidance. This bad weather will get more summer holidays booked. :) So as they say every cloud has a silver lining which in IAG case is true! lol
Very much under valued, stock at the moment, due a big rerate in the next 6-12mths I think.
I think i agree with most of that NU16 - we are assuming that once debt levels reach a certain point the divi will return and the share price recovers , but your right that some kind of comment or acknowledgement of the shareholders on what this level is would help , but i'am and can afford to be patient and im pretty sure it wont be too long now :) - im predicting debt below 4billion by end of this yr - then happy days

Also would have thought the oil price predictions for next year falling to $65 give IAG a little boost - but i doubt it will fall that much im sure opec will reduce production - but any fall means more profit in the bank for IAG - GLA
.......have today increased their rating of IAG as Overweight from Neutral. which I quote the internet as meaning-
If analysts give a stock an overweight rating, they expect the stock to outperform its industry in the market. Analysts may give a stock an overweight recommendation due to a steady stream of positive news, good earnings, and raised guidance.
There you are from frivolous to serious in one small step.
Take from that what you will

Hello casio_Kid.. Haha that flew right over my head.. Tomorrow is a new day.
Have a pleasant evening.
Hello Gwhizz
That was supposed to be funny and tongue in cheek at the same time..
Oh well back to the drawing, but thanks for joining in Gwhizz.
Perhaps I need a charisma by pass!
Oh come on.. where's the fun in that. Life is short mate.
Hello Guys
We have been here not just for days, or weeks, but years. And now is not the time for personal recriminations, self doubt or negative flagellation. It's frustrating but as sund points out patience is the key and in this shares case, he is right.
good luck to all lth's who are true unexpected warriors!

"I know a lot about IAG, EZJ and CCI through various means!"
In my book that's called insider trading. So if he suddenly goes quiet we'll know why! 😄
More like his magic 8 ball
All the Airlines seem to trading down this morning, but I do agree this was a BAD buy/hold.
Expected much better by now
Mararab, you may get your wish today.
I'll be honest with you, this stock is starting to resemble THG, it totally disrespects it's share holders and then slaps them in the face.

In fairness hitmans right, the only prediction sundezena has had for I dont know how long is that its going up. We all wouldnt be here if we thought differently, I think shorters are a little bit more dedicated to their craft to spend time on this thread..... We are all just waiting.....hoping.....
Hitman, we were almost at £1.90 a few weeks back...and next time we climb we will hit £2..slowly slowly we will get there..plus one can make loads of money on the way by day trading too...next results will be very positive and will lift the share price..plus every day that passes debt is being repaid and we are closer to a divi..its a no-brainer really. thats why i bought more yesterday. Time will tell, hey???
@sundz Hope you're right.. But the last 100 times you've made a prediction aren't a good barometer of being so
Jlb, yeah, others were right. You're a tw4t. Just my opinion and seems like other's too.
getting all defensive, typical child-like mentality.
In fact, every post from you have been puerile. Yes, you are entitled to your opinion, so are we.
Jlbmth you are an angry little fellow.... Still waiting on your answer on profit sharing with all the airlines, if you are talking about codeshare its an entirely different thing........

Check it out on the trades page at 15.36 hrs..hahahahaha.
Guess who added another 17773 shares here?? Hahahaha.
Jlbmth, the fact that you say IAG won't go over in 2024 might be wrong..time will tell and btw, oil prices have come down a lot lately, do your research. The share price will fly once debt is down towards £5b...and divi will be reinstated soon IMO. That alone will lift the share price. If you don't believe they will be over £2, what are you exactly doing here?? or are you shorting??in which case hope you lose your shirt, buddy!! Hahahahaha.
@IAGLongterm Yes British Airways teamed up with American Airlines, do your research
Sun, when you say “the company is doing fine” what stats, info are you basing that on or is it just the fact planes seem full ?

Conger and Tom, please accept my commiserations! It's good to know, however, that I wasn't the only one. Sorry! Let's hope IAG starts to come good at some point and our decisions to dump RR and buy in here, gets vindicated! 🤞
I sold RR at 1.85 and bought here ... So you are both much clever than me! lol
Garonne, I know the feeling… I did the same. I sold my holding in Rolls Royce for some reason and bought more IAG shares, of course I regret that now.
You could be correct heardy! Maybe the market's just waiting for another down turn, however long that might take, just to prove a point. Maybe I'm getting paranoid but certainly being fed up doesn't even touch it! (especially as I sold RR at £2.54 and bought here thinking I was being clever) 😞
Heardy, and sometimes that is the best option. We don't have that US/stampede mentality to have a run on a stock and push it through the clouds, like AMC or Gamestop. I am tired of waiting so gave up 30% of my shares to buy BP, that has already made me money and when it reaches over 510 again I could sell and rebuy my 30% of IAG at the same price as I sold them, maybe less.

I disagree, but lets see what happens
Think weve seen the best of IAG till October/Nov
Conger2 depends on your age I guess I am 54 and rather self manage for a few more years over getting a 5% at best return or worse they loose you money.
I think I can make 15% in low risks stocks no issue so should not have to do much. I don;t change my holding now really.
stamp duty stops you making an extra few £ on the small dips. So i tend to hold the same shares. and only buy the big dips and sell the big highs which is rare as every thing just keeps going up. or like lgen stays the same but gives me 8.6% return. any way.
It’s not about the % - it’s about the capital you are taking the % from.
not really. it's all about the % what ever the capital.
@Retirement plan, I just need IAG to hit 2.05.... :)
@Retirement, I have done very self manging so far, by taking big risks some work some have not, but I am want to de-risk and mostly be able to forget about it. once I retire.

Bins...Oooh Ouch, no more red wine for me then! 😇
Just to be clear, one party is no better than the other. Both out to screw the public and have done a bang up job of it!
But for more arguments sake, it was this government that thought it would be a great idea to build HS2, £12b they said, £50-70b so far an not even there, last estimate was for £120b. How about they tell us, the tax payer how, where and to who they give our money?
Corrupt, the whole pigs**t pile of them. Europe is not better either.
Oh Dear! I seem to have kicked off a bit of a political brawl, despite the fact that I don't even recall making that post. I blame the Smirnoff. Once again, a message to you youngsters - "DON'T DRINK AND POST".
Laughoutloud - according to you, the last administration "bankrupted the country".
Absolute bilge - the national deficit in 2010 was about £700 billion. today it's about £2.6 trillion. Even if you factor in inflation and Covid, that's still a staggering increase. Compared to today, we were in a healthy financial position back in 2010. Still , you clearly adhere to a right-wing Tory dogma (aka "I'm alright Jack - f**k everyone else). Look around you - the country is f***ed. The phrase "Broken Britain" is not mine, but it is true. And the Conservatives did not spend "the next 10 years getting us to 0.5% interest rates". For a start, BOE interest rates are supposedly independent, and anyway, that was driven by the financial crisis of 2008.
Some people know the price of everything, and the value of nothing. I suspect you are one of them.
PS - I was in GDR, but had the sense to get out a while back.
Perhaps Starmer's reflection of 14 years ago should include the sell off of the Gold Reserve, at a loss, the 118 Billion Pound Pension Dividends raid and the fact they left office having bankrupted the country. The Conservatives spent the next 10 years to getting us to 0.5 percent interest rate and less than 2 percent inflation. The following 4 years was down to the China disease and Putin. Rinse and Repeat to come.
Ha god I have seen everything. Truss defenders. Anyway can we go back to talking planes please.

Third runway has been put on the back burner the aim is to get the maximum usage out of two runways, T4 has 2 of the new 3D scanners in use, it's all about the major shareholders nowadays and getting the maxim profit back to them
This is a good idea, the problem is Heathrow though..

Heathrow's CEO should stop fantasizing of the third runway and make it a normal airport. For the love of god please install those d*mn liquid scanners!

I never book flights on an app only on the PC normally via a comparison site, I might use the carriers website after finding the flights I want.
One exception I think is the easyJet website is pretty good.
Time as well. They are behind in introduction this.
British Airways passengers are to get Amazon-style app booking where flights can be secured in just a few clicks in an overhaul of the company’s decades-old website..
Hope this works or they would have wasted millions and picked the wrong technology.

Unfortunately, it looks like American airlines has killed this sector for the foreseeable future. God, I hate the Yanks sometimes!
