cool
know a thing or 2 about oil trading. I imagine I will be scolded once again for posting negatively, but realism intrudes.

When the New Yorkers start to get multiple hundreds dying daily, probably next week, there will be a huge sell off, worldwide.
I am now a VLTH(Very long term holder) . Sounds like VLCC.
i guess it was the report in energy voice that made them feel they had to announce it but i agree with you...we are taking a spanking on the back of it.
Locheelad - Good point. I want to know what is the Plan 'B' if, 1. oil drops to below capex, or, 2. there is a world glut, and we have no buyer. Is there a shut-in plan ?
Did we really need an RNS for this and are we going to get one every time another worker gets the virus.
Why issue something that is having no effect on production.
Yep military for me
The virus doesn't respond well to strict procedures, as a large number of cruise ship passengers can attest
The next two weeks we are on the steep part of the infection rate curve. I doubt this guy was working as a hermit so it will affect others, and replacement of lost crew may be hard at present. The timing of this infection is bad news. I have now swapped my cash out of Hur and into jog, which is where Hur was 12 months ago. The depression in jog price due to low oil price and impatience waiting for first oil is overdone, having said that if the firm is badly affected by covid I would sell that one too. I didn't spend the lot and am looking at Ukog with a view to hope of an imminent announcement about pedl143 ... (They need a landowner to lease them some land).. haven't bought in yet though
Apachewind - Surely you mean Medivacs? Casevac is a military term.
ABOUT TO GO ELECTRIC:
In less than a decade China's new electric vehicle market has become the largest in the world. In 2018 more than a million electric vehicles were sold in China, more than three times the number sold in the US.
in the last quarter of 2019 sales for electric vehicles plummeted.
Now the coronavirus has supplied a second punch.
The vast majority [of electric car makers] will not survive
For car buyers, that question of quality hangs over China's electric car makers.
https://www.bbc.com/news/business-51711019
In spite of my investments in oil companies, I would like to see more electric vehicles replacing traditional ones, but I think it's more feasible with smaller vehicles.
Health Secretary it seems. He said ' I wish I had followed my own advice '!
LW, there are probably several hundred employees connected to Hurricane so it was just a matter of time before one contacted the Virus, and yes it does make a difference.
There is likely only one or two actual Hurricane employees on board the FPSO at the time. I appreciate the Oil Price is on it arse, but if anyone is selling because of the chap that was taken off with C19 then I think that is an over reaction. The AM is still producing Oil as I type, it is bussiness as ussual.
That said, let's hope that the chap that got lifted off the Aoka Mizu, along with all the others with suspected C19 that have been de-mobed from many other Rigs offshore UK make a full and speedy recovery.
'Mr Johnson's spokesman said all No 10 staff "will of course remain two metres apart from him at all times if they were to have any contact".'
In the case of the Leader of the Opposition, I would increase that to two kilometers.
Well done and goodluck
Coronavirus: Prime Minister Boris Johnson tests positive

At first, when I first saw this on another website, I thought it must be a hoax.
Casevacs
Phone interview for nhs job this afternoon . Several lifetimes ago was a medic and case ax’s via chopper was one of the regular tasks. Got to be done. Gla.
I thought someone might query that, but obviously it's someone connected with HUR.
Long wait, where does it say that it was a Hurricane Energy Employee, because I dont believe it was.
https://uk.investing.com/analysis/oil-crash-2020-the-saudis-unintended-help-in-a-pandemic-200439752
“I expect the Saudis will continue doing what they’re doing to destroy the high-cost producers of crude — i.e. U.S. shale — so that they can get as much market share as possible. They’ll be waiting, of course, for a comeback in demand, so that they can administer cuts again and get the prices they want.”
“And that’s where it gets complicated — because no one has an idea how long and bad the recession anticipated from this virus will be. While low oil prices are extremely stimulative to the global economy, demand for crude itself is contingent on so many nuanced factors. So, the economy might continue benefiting and the Saudis may continue losing.”
Ohh ADUK .... "Someone really wants to buy out Hurricane on the cheap, methinks. Or shut us down, trying"
For fun let's give your statement some scrutiny; so someone goes to all the trouble of ensuring a body on the AM has CV19, a poisoned dart in an umbrella ? Then not just any old heli flies out, but a HMCG one and scoops up one sick person. Meanwhile, a journo is contacted by those who planned this little escapade, is given the nod, the editor approves the article and it's published. Did you know Tom Brown's Schooldays is fiction.
Of course, Double: I know you aren't French!
It's nice of you to be a peaceful invader.
Can't say the same for the French.
They weren't very peaceful in 1066.
Cap't Swag,
"I bet "old lucky" (HUR) is the only work place where someone gets CV and it ends up as an article!...FFS.."
Precisely. That was exactly the thrust of my early-morning posts. Initially ridiculing the piece, although it would appear to have been based on fact, as confirmed by today's RNS, so I was wrong in that respect. But why should a covid-19 related medivac from the Aoka Mizu be singled-out by 'EnergyVoice' as a headline article, with a daft headline, and a ridiculously out-of-date photo? When evidently the same is happening on other installations (not surprisingly), as someone else here has pointed out?
Someone really wants to buy out Hurricane on the cheap, methinks. Or shut us down, trying.
''Seawell is currently sat less than a mile off the AM if that means anything to anyone''
I'm sure it means something to someone (within HUR office) but I am a million % certain it is not there to conduct a full blown Lincoln Crestal P&A as has been previously intimated by some.
sorry Pisces I have so many green boxes popping up these days that I have no idea which fool dreamt that up and suggested it was even operationally possible :)
