I take it you have changed your outlook!!.
Sector chart , bullish pivot break , and GPE, at overhead resistance level of 400. Sp, requires to break above 400, or show support above 400, with a price target of 451.
I have held these for a few years but their dividend is in my opinion far too low for attracting new investors and convincing me to want to hold on. It was fine when interest rates were near zero but there isn’t a lot of attraction at current levels of payout. Hoping for a step up tomorrow.
Thanks Hobione for your kind reply. It might weaken a little now the divi hos have had their day. Can you expand a little on the tyre company. Do you think it will be this year, Outwith the tyre company, this is an excellent company. I will definitely invest I just need to time my entry.
Falling Knife - what will return substantial returns for shareholders is its biggest holding. Should the tyre company float then I believe value greater then what is being priced in so far will be realised. Will they return that back to shareholders as a special divi or make massive investments else where? Who knows, either way it sets itself up well for the future. I can honestly see this at £10 over the next few years. Solid investment. But dyor....
Hi Hobione. Thanks for the kind replies. It was this morning obviously as we see from the drop. Definitely on my watchlist. A very consistent performer with a decent yield. I will track it to see how it fares. I would be grateful for any comments as this is a very quiet board.
It states the last day for divi and special divi is 28th May so anyone in until close of play Thursday is going to get it. However if I'm wrong it will drop substantially first thing. The positive on this share is that it is reading at a discount anyway so anything lost on the drop will be quickly made back as people buy back in. This share has done me very well over the past five years.
Is it ex-divi in the morning or at close of play? Do yoou think it pays to move in before the divi or wait until it falls? After all you have to wait for the divi to be paid.
Last day for divi and special divi payments.... Nice
Last year they gave a nice Special Divi.. Results due within a month so the gamblers might be playing this in the hope of a fast buck!
They have owned Micheldever Tyres for nearly 10 years. I've just bought a pair through Halfords garage and guess what? Yes, Halfords buys all their tyres from Micheldever.. Micheldever is by far Graphite's biggest single investment, They have built it into a large and successful outfit, making decent profits. Not long then before a sale or IPO. That may draw the City's eye to this rather sleepy counter!!
Recent rns indicates good results and I think there is still discount to net asset vale but it has narrowed. Shares can have a degree of volatility - the share charts above do show this and as such might be attractive for a regular savings investment where pound cost averaging would benefit. Cannot really say how they compare with others for the medium term but thir own website should give performance against peers etc in the past
I'm here looking at private equity type investments for the med-long term - any advice or opinion here?
.
nayone out there
8 April 2011 Graphite Enterprise Trust PLC ("Graphite Enterprise" or the "Company") announces that contracts have been exchanged to sell 74.9% of its investment in Preh, which is held both directly and through the Company's interest in Deutsche Beteiligungs AG IV. The sale is subject to regulatory approval. This sale has no impact on the Company's last reported net asset value per share of 534.0p as at 31 January 2011, as the valuation of Preh was adjusted in those accounts for the effect of this transaction. Together with proceeds from the previously announced disposals of Wagamama and Kwik-Fit, the Company expects to receive cash of £30.5 million as these three transactions complete over the coming months.
