There is little doubt that this is an excellent (premium!) product. The recent rise in sp has defied variations in the indexes and advanced steadily in a most unusual (IMO) and orderly manner. I can only think that the figures announced a few weeks ago are sinking in to institutional buyers, although the volume of trades remains strangely low. I can see no other reason for the rise and I don't see any sign of it abating. The pattern on the chart is somewhat similar to that which commenced in October last year when I bought in (although a much steeper rise). Long may it last! I do somewhat agree with IK that any comparison with Coke is a little hard to justify, although I get your drift Phoenix. A lot of my friends are also now buying Fevertree rather than the more traditional mixers, despite the higher price. It seems to me that selling the product to large companies, such as Virgin, has been the key here and I imagine (hope)that others will follow. Anyway, I certainly remain confident that this will continue to produce us all some profit in the short-term. All the Best. DK
Not to be too rude , but I think your grasp on Economics is seriously flawed . You have confused a luxury good with a premium good. A premium good is desirable due to its quality and functionality and has an inherent quality above others. This means people want to buy it because it is the best. For example would you like to taste real genuine coke or a cheap generic copy that is foul like tesco cola. So the answer is obvious . No mater how available coke is worldwide , people will always buy more coke at a higher price because it tastes better . Just like fever tree , the product is better and tastes better and to use any other tonic water spoils the experience . So fever tree needs and will benefit by being the coke of tonic water . Simple. A luxury good , which i believe you have confused a premium good with , is only expensive for no good reason and a classic example is a diamond , where a cartel has to restrict the supply to keep the price up . This company will be taken over sooner or later and in the meantime if the pension funds aren' t filling their boots , then a big boy will be quietly hoovering up these shares. As soon as my friends try fever tree , they don't use the cheaper brands . The product is that good.
You know why I purchased these shares after tasting fever tree. Because I can remember Innocent Smoothy and thinking wow , this tastes fantastic when i wanted a lunch snack drink and guess what ! Coke purchased innocent smoothy . So i feel this share will 100% be taken over like innocent was because the product is fantastic and the profit margins are massive and the overheads are low. Simples meerkat in my opinion
Before I purchased these shares at 585 I tried their product first. It was because of actually tasting the amazing difference in quality , that i decided to purchase a few of these shares. Now Fevertree is absolutely everywhere. I am not surprised the share price has jumped so much, but I do still believe it is only a matter of time before this company is taken over by a big player. I can't imagine what the buy out price will have to be.
We had a local Gin festival event here near Portsmouth a couple of months ago (loads of people went) couldn't believe it when I turned up and it was sponsored by Fevertree , nothing but Fevertree being sold with the Gin and Tasters also a very knowledgeable lady From Fevertree on a stand (Fevetree fully branded car in the car park). Just shows how far they are going to spread the word
I bought into FT at £8 topped up at £13 and again in the £16's. God I wished I'd sold my large Lloyds Bank holding to get in here. So how far can this go ? It's noticeable that Fevertree products are nor spreading far and wide. Iv noticed even smaller pubs free houses are now stocking FT alongside the more basic cheaper rival products. Fevertree is now on Easyjet flights, and is sold in airport Wetherspoons pubs. Not sure how much UK growth is left, but International sales has plenty of scope - !
We're approaching the £24 RBC target SP quite rapidly now....hoping for a significant upward revision soon
come on Kimbo and Trumpy start spouting your insults again so we can have another dip in these shares before it finally gets taken over . Another bank has said £24 pounds today . It's not fair , it always goes up when you want it to go down.
£6.28 million trade yesterday, LSE changed the character
What's ţ6.28 Million?
Just went through, Wow
TMF is a bit of a joke publication. The article i saw the other day didn't have any decent analysis and the author couldn't even work out the correct p/e ratio.
TMF is merely low level clickbait for advertising revenue and is not to be read with any degree of seriousness.
Thanks I hadn't considered the rules regarding Aim as well
Check out the rules for Aim shares , as I think if you have held them for two years plus , isn't the gain free , especially if you re invest in another or something . Google it , as i am sure there was something about this recently in one of the financial papers . I think the FT only last weekend possibly
If we did get a takeover and we had the option of an all share deal would that mean that we wouldn't need to crystalize a gain that would take me into capital gains tax unlike if the offer were in cash?
Yep and my bank balance would look a lot better as well
hey anybody who buys this with the correct mindset to leave the team in place ,but give them all the back up they need would benefit amazingly. It wouldn't surprise me if one of the big boys makes a move , possibly others will suddenly wake up to the even bigger threat Fevertree would be to their own profits if their competition took control of this cash cow that also pumps out golden eggs by the million . Sometimes it amazes me how stupid the big boys are when it comes to making a move that is so obvious . I think some broker said the present price target without a takeover was 2400 and we aren't even there yet .
I agree Phoenix I didn't see any price drop anyhow? But wouldn't it be a master stroke for Pepsi to buy it under Coca Cola`s nose
I am not really a believer in the motley fool , as they blow hot and cold quicker than Trump can say your fired , no your hired , no sorry your fired etc. Also, if this was an automatic large sell , you can see the huge sell was gulped up with a high massive number of single buys and at high premiums quickly after . In my opinion something could be happening while everyones eye is off the ball for the August Hols. Fever Tree have a huge market still to take and they are blazing a trail with huge profit margins and low overheads. If I was Coke or Similar, I would be doing the same thing as they did with Innocent Smoothy . Since Coke took over Innocent , they have grown it amazingly and kept the founders in place and allowed them to operate their ideas as before , but with all the marketing resources of Coke etc . Lets wait and see guys and Girls. I wouldn't be surprised , as the UK Pound is so weak .
The Motley Fool Says over priced at this level hence perhaps sells today ?
It looks like sell orders for £23.00 were triggered. People having set these up previously to bank profits. Once these had been taken out other nervous nellies sold in light of the resulting fall, which futtger compounded the retrace
Why did everyone suddenly start selling? Great morning up a couple of percent and no the SP is suddenly down - from what I can see there is no news on the company, anybody know what the driver is?
So the founders have lowered their holding so much , that they now really leave themselves open for possibly a hostile takeover in my opinion . 1. You have sweppes losing market share to fever tree and even one of the founders was boosting about that a year or so ago in some interview in the research info. 2. The weak pound is increasing fever trees returns dramatically and this will only help their expansion into USA and other markets. 3. Everywhere I go people will only have fever tree tonic water with their gin including me. 4. You can drink their toinc by itself and it tastes great , especially if you have to drive. The hot weather must be helping . 5. I believe they have also won a contract with virgin airlines in addition to other airlines. They are profitable and with the exchange rate in the USA favour of takeovers and Coke's recent poor growth figures, maybe they might look seriously at this company . I think coke purchased innocent which had a similar respected brand and good growth prospects. There was talk years ago that this company was possibly going to be taken over by a competitor at some time sooner or later. Maybe now the doors been left open and everyones on their summer hols, perhaps someone might start to make their move . Who knows. Just a guess, but if I was looking for a good growth brand to add to my drinks range , this would be it. I hate to think what the buy out price would be, but the founders have left this open for the big boys in my opinion. Do your own research
Some huge buys today 👍🏻👍🏻
