will keep an eye out to see if any large transactions show up later as low volume drop at the moment
Not sure why.
big fall today now down a 1
Gibb looks like he has a great track record hopefully he'll achieve stellar growth in the states.
They should bring out a special wedding tonic for Harry and Meghan.
Woody, they've answered your call. They are setting up their own operation there: makes sense.
growth of 43% in the period represented growth of 29% on a constant currency basis. Off-Trade listings achieved in the second half of 2016 are performing well and we are seeing consistent strong growth in both Tonic and Ginger Beer flavours as the premium gin and tonic and Moscow Mule continue to increase in popularity. The US premium mixer opportunity is still at a relatively early stage and as the first mover and number one premium mixer brand the Group remains well positioned for future growth.
Was in Amsterdam a fortnight ago and saw Fever Tree as the preferred mixer in some decent restaurants and bars.
Are FEVR making significant inroads in the US? UK can't sustain this sp on its own-imho.
Not sure why loss leaders are mentioned , plenty of margin for the retailers on this product that's why they like selling it. Plenty of room on discounting. They have overtaken Schweppes on sales by value this year so must doing extremely well
It would be interesting to know if the discounted sales seen in supermarkets is also being offered by wholesalers and to the premium air flyers Virgin etc. Sorry not in the UK but if I were I would go into a wholesalers or gin bar and find out. Supermarkets sometimes offer loss leaders but if it could also be a cheap way for Fever to attack the expensive promotion campaign of the competition?
I thought we had returned to a relatively stable pattern of stable-ish behaviour in the SP after the volatility post July results. However, a 5% fall on no news after a week of relatively steady movements??
what a crazy share this is... slowly edge up all week and then bang, back down to earth ! so volatile !
In value terms Fevertree sales are now bigger than Schweppes in the UK tonic sales as end of Oct! See current Charles interview 21 Nov British Library https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HRVZ3O6ynhA
When I say double the price I am referring to price per 100 ml of the larger bottles, which is shown under the shelf price.
Schweppes had dedicated special offer stand in local Tesco's at weekend 3 a box of 12 150's (down from 4) against FEVR at 3.99 for 8 x 150's. No signs of activity around stand and it was full.
Now discounted to same price in Asda and Morrisons. Effectively a 20% discount, which is the same as what Schweppes offer on a 2 for 1 purchase. Fevertree is still over double the price of Schweppes, so I think discounting to boost sales in the Xmas period is sensible. Have to say I buy the Fevertree because it tastes so much nicer.
If Sainsbury’s sell it as a loss leader to get people in the store, I am happy.
Personally I do not see this as a positive thing, if there was sufficient demand at standard prices they would have no interest in discounting it. If this is a Sainsbury's-led price cut, it potentially indicates insufficient demand. It could also be a FEVR-led discounting op, which could be taken either way.
No it seams the opposite of what been going on recently. Strange
Any obvious explanation for the higher price paid?
@22.43. Nice buy at an elevated price too!
Sainsbury's have cut price of Fevertree bottles from 1.70 to 1.35 in the run up to Xmas. They had sold out of my new favourite Clementine flavour, which goes well with Sloe gin.
Sorry I have not been following this as closely as I should have done. It is now clear that the drop in the price on November 8th was done to enable the new institutional investor to climb on board as per TR 1 issued on November 13th. The drop in the share price on the 8th has been seized on by some broker (according to Share Prophets) that the SP has shot its bolt. I don't agree.
Maybe we will see this pattern again today with the price being dragged all over the place and then loads of late reports?
