admin the AGM is just coming up
Jefferies up lifted to 1800. I still think they are over sold
rns re directors holdings under a scheme. always support this sort of thing
spoke too soon. Huge sale end of day £18 million!
up to £8 million in purchases. that is institutional money
I prefer facts to fables.
Today so far sales of £2.5 million but purchases £6.3 million. Very positive I think
Inclined to take the divi and run. Constant struggle for gambling stocks.
I once went to Fontwell a rare figure of 8 course. I had a tip from someone in the know that a certain horse never even placed would be trying as would the jockey. Opening price 8/1. Sadly the news was out could barely get 6/4 and it won comfortably by 8 lengths. I still think Entain will come good.
well its not a 2 year old ready for a 6 furlong sprint. More of a stayer perhaph a contender for a Grand National.
One oppo one rarely mentioned here is 888. Well if I sell it will immediately be taken over
There is no doubt that Flutter shareholders investment has done much better than holders of ENTAIN. I think the "hope" with ENTAIN is that it will eventually be the subject of a new bid either by MGM or a much bigger action for both business.
All main players in the US are currently losing money and those losses will continue in 2023. At the moment the fight is all about buying market share: Flutter is winning that fight, particularly in the Sportsbook trade.
From your Irish Times link: "The annual report’s figures show that Flutter’s target for non-US earnings before interest and tax was £1.146 billion, while it actually achieved £1 billion. Had it hit the target the top executives’ 2022 pay would have been similar to the level received in 2021."
Note the reference to non-US earnings missing the target.
Just look at the numbers ashton: then decide which has been the best investment.

For info, Flutter / FanDuel may not doing quite as well as you think.
I don't own Flutter, I do have a position here.

Flutter (Fan Duel) is crushing BetMGM in the States. Fan Duel is extending its lead continuously and now looks untouchable.
MGM Resorts is now increasing its competition with Entain outside of the US - it just cannot make for harmonious relationships. I the past 5 years Flutter share price +84%, Entain +48%; in the past year Flutter +84%, Entain -5%.
Market capitalisation: Flutter $29.4M, Entain $9.7M - only one winner here and it isn't Entain.
My money's been on the wrong horse.

Yes, great results with more to come. SP down 3.2% just now! Company needs to be split in 2, new listing in NY for all businesses ex UK.
GLTA
Should rise today - great results imv and great progress in USA.
Not sure I quite understand that.
Anyway, we are up today I see. Surely we are quite a bit undervalued for some perverse reason. Maybe the market still perceives a risk and a bit of turmoil over MGM. Am sticking with this one regardless.
somr were repeated on putting Ent stock into search engine. quite scary with strong messages later overturned. if you use search engine gives rreal time price instead of 15 minute delay
a whole bunch of mixed linked messages first thing in the morning on opening.
Where do you discover 'unusual shorting'?
Hairy opening down 7% on unusual shorting. 2 non execs gone. Everything settled now 1.5% up. I am still bullish

Of course the working partnership with MGM (Resorts) continues
This is a marathon not a sprint. Entain is a good bet! I would not be surprised if MGM come sniffing back. They know value. Meanwhile, no worries, this is a reasonable one to tuck away anyway.
au contraire mes ami. Under US law a 50% holder has no rights to enforce anything. I still think this is a cpcorker for theg the long term !!!!!!!!
Entain could find itself in the unenvious position of having MGM as a partner in the US and a competitor everywhere else (see my post of 29 Jan 2022).
A 50% share in BetMGM is not a controlling stake; how Entain must be wishing they had held out for 51%. Of course MGM would wish to take over Entain, but not at the price Entain demanded. US companies play rough and partnerships are only worth having with willing partners; it could get ugly going forward.

You are still asleep, thats whats going on :-)
