Mathsman. Surely you do not believe MGM? I am still out and out bullish
09.02.2023 - Numis ups target to 1900p (1850p)
Massively oversold
Clarity now,Entain more than good value without any takeover, for me i am staying an investor.
With such huge success for BetMGM in MGM's core market, MGM will be back.
REUTERS
"Entain (ENT.L) tumbled 11.4%, after a Jefferies report pointed to MGM's (MGM.N) chief executive officer saying the company had "moved on" from the gambling firm amid speculation of a takeover."
According to Bloomberg, MGM has stated that it has no intention of bidding for Entain. DYOR.
Thanks, anymore?
maybe a link?
Problem with MGM
Has anybody found a reason for this??
Ahead of expectations & FY23 likely to be very strong + no revenues from unregulated markets.Amazing progress from the good old days of SBT!
Outstanding results. A good share to have in difficult times.
yes sir. a concept forerign to th govt .I always under promised and over achieved a simple way of keeping people happy
Terrific update with FY23 projected revenues of $1.8-$2.00 bill-but I suspect that is relatively modest & with new openings there must be fair chance of exceeding $2 bill + we will be profitable by H2.
Once thing the Ent element management know ( from GVC & SBT days)it is that always better to under promise & over achieve .That assumes, of course , that we will remain independent by 31/12/23
Trading today. £17 million sales £32 million bought.
Institution territory
Two days running the SP has run up after the Americans have got out of bed. THe MGM Resorts noise is public knowledge in the US so perhaps some taking a punt it's true?
AceofClubs
'Ercule Poiro 'ere Monsieur Taverham - A quick boo at MGM's news feed reveals nothing, A shufti at the LSE's trading records on their website reveals that the usual small punters (Under £5k) began buying in large numbers at 15.22, but no sign of any hefty trades until the price hit £14.75 around 15.26, at which time a whole bunch of trades between £20k and £45k, noted as 'Off-Book' ran the price up to £15.05, then Joe Public continued to trade heavily in small amounts and pushed it to £15.50.
Looks like a very believable rumour ran round the market. Maybe even a true one??
why the leap up today? bid coming ? - i hope!
ace of clubsdealing with US compamies. my dear chap you are so optimistic
ace of clubs. I agree re bet MGM. I did a pub quiz this week. One question was who is black lady at card was what is the dark lady at cards. I was one of a handful it is of course qyeen of spades. sign of a misspent youth
Good post. Few ethics in USA benefit look at all the purge of staff presentlly
ENTAIN is my largest holding in a UK listed business, largely organic growth from the GVC days; so far so good.
The future is, as always, uncertain. The 50% share in BetMGM is seen as the big growth driver but I am unclear about the relationship with MGMResorts, the other 50% "partner".
In September 2022 MGMResorts acquired the Stockholm listed LeoVegas:
"In outlining the rationale for the deal, MGM said the acquisition of Nasdaq Stockholm-listed LeoVegas will provide a “unique opportunity” for the group to create a scaled global online gaming business. It said the deal will offer strategic opportunities to accelerate growth and product offerings and a commitment to continued profitable growth."
MGMResorts may be a "partner" in the USA but they clearly have no compunction about being a competitor everywhere else.
My personal experience of dealing with executives of US businesses is that they are untrustworthy, 100% focused on self-interest and are your "partner" until the day it suits them not to be. I do hope ENTAIN management is up to the task of protecting the interests of ENTAIN shareholders; but I have my doubts.

Nice to see the big boys wading in. Ace of Clubs still waiting your views. I am unashamed bull
